Tough two days for ConciergeMike despite milestone 7000. His Devs get beat in overtime (Marty also had no chance on the second) and now, indignity of indignities, NY Rangers have beaten Washington twice hand running. :td:

He's smart, but the smarts get him into trouble. Our stairs have a metal rail attached to a wall next to the stairs on one side. The other side is like a half-wall that runs up at the same angle as the stairs. It's drywall, topped with a flat piece of wood, about 6" wide. I had my luggage sitting at the bottom of the stairs, and this cat is obsessed with my luggage. If it's out, he's in it, or climbing on it. He hopped on top of my bag, which put him within about a foot of the end of the half wall that runs along the stairs. We were watching as he eyed it, then decided to jump onto it. Of course, he was jumping onto a painted wood surface that's angled down at about a 20-30 degree angle, which meant he started to slide. He tried to grab on with his claws, but that didn't work, so he slid down and hit the floor on his backside. Bet he won't do it again.

He's also fallen off the second floor balcony railing once before, after he jumped from it to a steel support beam, thinking he could climb down the beam. That ended with the cat hitting a lamp, which he broke, and then hitting the solid concrete floor on all fours. Thankfully the cat has so far survived these antics without serious injury.

This is the same cat who decided to see if he could climb on the wooden stair railing earlier today, and ended up flying down the banister and landing on his butt at the bottom of the stairs.

This thread is useless without video.:D

Agree on both counts. In the postgame coverage, I did believe Resch when he said that Marty saw the puck leave that shooter's stick, but he lost it in the screen (Eric Staal as a screen may well be like a Jersey barrier in front of your net) and I did see that the puck only beat Marty because it took a deflection off of Havelid's skate. Poo happens, and Carolina seems to have our number just like Atlanta did for whatever reason a few years ago. I'm not giving up, but it sure was a crappy way to lose a game.

Oh, how I wish I had video of it. But it happened too quickly to grab the camera. We were both standing there knowing this was going to end badly for the cat. But we were too amused by the whole thing to stop him and spare him the little bit of pain he probably felt.

The one good thing is that when he does this crazy stuff and it ends badly for him, he doesn't do it again. He still gets on the second floor balcony railing, but he's not attempted to jump off, nor has he fallen off, since that night last September when he fell.

I got my last cat during an "awful" winter in Virginia (there was always snow, which was rare). She was born on a farm, then converted to a quasi-indoor cat. Once I got her, I took her out and stood her in the snow for a couple seconds everyday for about two weeks - out on the porch, out the front door. Marti never had any inclination to go near a door to the outside world again, which is a good trait as a city cat.

I like iTunes - the Vista-style Media Center looks very odd to me, and I try to avoid it. I would seriously consider going all Mac but for my BB.

No need for a PC versus a Mac for a BB. Everything should be functional over the air. The only time mine is ever connected to a computer is to charge when I'm on the road so I don't have to carry the charger with me.

A few minutes ago I grabbed some crackers here in the PC, and despite multiple hand-washings since using the spray this morning, I still had some on my hands. That got transferred from my hands to the cracker to my mouth, and now I can't this nasty bitter taste out of my mouth.

Try acidic like lemon juice. It should cut the oils in the spray and get it off your skin.

None of us got out of control. We did gossip and tell little dirty facts about some of our co-workers. We also drank alot of wine. I paced myself because I'm a cheap date and most places charge $10 for their tastings. It would have been cheaper for us to just buy a few bottles of wine and find a park to eat and drink at. I stuck with white wines, since reds can give me a massive allergic reaction (tons of sneezing and runny nose). We were drinking from 1-5pm, going from winery to winery.

One of us almost fell off the picnic bench. If it had been a bar stool, you know it would have been me. :D

Just tried a locally based (Denver) chain called Smashburger. I give it a ^. Better than 5G. There is a Smashburger in Houston - Kriby and Main, down by the stadiums. I'll have to be a repeat customer.

By "Mac", I assumed CM was speaking about the iPhone.

Is it a published benefit that you get credits for every ticket you purchase (even if it is for someone else)? Sometimes I get $10 if traveling with my fiancee, but most times (like Hartmann) I only get $5. I've never chased CO down for the missing credit as I didn't know what the official policy was.

I just received $60 in travel club credits for a co-workers trip I booked for him. 6 travelers, two one-way reservations. :)
