Yeah they had the "good" stuff there.

Those (of the bigger FT'ers) that tried the new BF seats, how are they on seat width? Snug?

I found them to be wider than I expected, but I am not exactly big.

Yeah, I booked the L fare back in early January for right at $120 a/i.

What do you guys think about a SAN microbrewery DO sometime on a September or October weekend? We have eight local breweries all of which make some pretty awesome beer. And September/October are both after the peak travel season and the high points of fire season so it could be quite the inexpensive adventure.

Breweries with tours and free beer tastings include:

Stone Brewery - also has a restaurant.

Karl Strauss - has several restaurants in San Diego County which have cask tapping parties on occasion.

Gordon Biersch - hey look another one with a restaurant.

Ballast Point

Coronado Brewing Company - restaurant!

Green Flash Brewing

Oggi's Pizza & Beer - all in restaurant form.

Port Brewing - warning: may contain restaurants.

We also have a couple of chains, BJ's Brewhouse and Rock Bottom but each of them makes their own beer on the restaurant premises.

So, anyone thirsty?

This would work out great, because I am already thinking of a weekend trip to SAN in late Sept/Oct.

I fit in the seat fairly well. My only issue was that the footrest could not contain my feet with shoes on. Having said that, the BE Aerospace rep that was there with the seats said that the ones on display would be the smallest ones CO was buying. IIRC the display seats were the 757 seat and the 787 window seats. The 787 center aisle and 777 seats in general would be larger. I asked Larry if the rumor was true that he fits in them, how tall he is, and whether or not CO would have bought them if he had issues fitting in them. His answers: yes, 6'6", and no...if Larry didn't fit, no sale on the seat.

The party is getting larger.

Probable attendees now: baglady, monitor, franny, Olton Hall, rolov, belynch, jrzyshawn+1, and shell nyc+1, with Mr BL and sbm12 possible later on for drinks.

Time and place still TBD.

Let's assume for a minute that I'm taking this St. Lucia idea the least bit seriously. Is there someplace on teh Interwebs that I can look for American expat in the Caribbean legalities, needs to know, etc.?

jrzyshawn Feb 10, 2009 10:08 am

I want to say it was really a pleasure to finally meet you guys and put faces to names and FT handles. I really wish I had more time to meet, mingle and chat with everyone at the hangar event, but we were dealing with  back home.

A good place to start is the State Department's page on St. Lucia. You may be able to find some additional cited information on Wikipedia but you're already well aware of the large grain of salt that must be used there.
