What do you guys think about a SAN microbrewery DO sometime on a September or October weekend? We have eight local breweries all of which make some pretty awesome beer. And September/October are both after the peak travel season and the high points of fire season so it could be quite the inexpensive adventure.
Breweries with tours and free beer tastings include: Stone Brewery - also has a restaurant. Karl Strauss - has several restaurants in San Diego County which have cask tapping parties on occasion. Gordon Biersch - hey look another one with a restaurant. Ballast Point Coronado Brewing Company - restaurant! Green Flash Brewing Oggi's Pizza & Beer - all in restaurant form. Port Brewing - warning: may contain restaurants. We also have a couple of chains, BJ's Brewhouse and Rock Bottom but each of them makes their own beer on the restaurant premises. So, anyone thirsty? |

No, not a heretic at all. After all, Whataburger proudly tells us that you can get your Whataburger any way you want it.
Crap. Now I've got a late evening Whataburger craving. And I'm home in Atlanta and the closest Whataburger is probably in Baton Rouge. For some reason Whataburger tastes best to me after 11:00 PM. And Whataburger is best after 11PM because that's when they begin serving the Breakfast on a Bun!

The closest Whataburger to ATL is is Thomasville, GA. I know this because I looked it up last time I was in ATL and wanted Whataburger. I knew they were in Florida but they haven't yet penetrated Georgia much for some reason. That reason made me sad.
And Whataburger is best after 11PM because that's when they begin serving the Breakfast on a Bun! An excellent suggestion! One of the two places in San Diego that actually has Shiner Bock on tap. :D |

No way. There's a Whataburger in Georgia? I had no idea there were any east of the Mississippi.
So I'll put a big maybe on the SAN microbrewery event, and we'll see how it goes. Night Box. |

When we boarded the flight we said hi to Phil. The look on his face wondering who we were and how we knew his name was priceless. And yes, he was listening to his iPod.

Yes it was. He clearly had no recollection of Gil, and consequently no clue of how we knew of him or knew his name.
