Not long enough for me. I felt like I was in a trash compactor

Having said that, the BE Aerospace rep that was there with the seats said that the ones on display would be the smallest ones CO was buying. IIRC the display seats were the 757 seat and the 787 window seats. The 787 center aisle and 777 seats in general would be larger. I asked Larry if the rumor was true that he fits in them, how tall he is, and whether or not CO would have bought them if he had issues fitting in them. His answers: yes, 6'6", and no...if Larry didn't fit, no sale on the seat.

There is no way Larry fits in those seats comfortably. I wasn't all that comfortable in them in the lie flat position but upright and reclined was great.

Uh oh. My BKK-SVO segment on SU for the honeymoon has disappeared from my reservation (with no notice of schedule change), and none of the GDS systems appear to list that flight as continuing to exist in June.

My experience on international flights in BusinessFirst is that most passengers have their shoes off while seated most of the time. I've only ever seen one passenger on such a flight sleep with his shoes on; this guy not only slept in his shoes, but he slept most of the IAH-LGW flight in his full suit, with jacket and tie on as well . Talk about being uncomfortable! He may have had a meeting or something to get to immediately after landing in London, but he also looked quite wrinkled as a result of how he spent the flight.

I had the same issue. My size 16 shoe didn't fit while sitting up; reclining was not going to happen. I was, most likely, the largest person at the Do that I saw. As Mike mentioned, the seat was a little too narrow for me, but not prohibitively so. If the 777 seat is two inches wider, it would be darn near perfect. The bulkhead seat, which I tend to go for on any airframe, had a metal divider between seats that my arm hit all the time. It was better on the row behind the bulkhead. I also wish they had personal air vents, but the cubby behind your head with 110v power (that also took international adapters) was pretty awesome.

I agree. The first thing I did after takeoff was to take my shoes off. Those, slippers, though, I tried to put one on and it was a comedy of errors. Such is life.

I'd be concerned about my large feet fitting in the foot well, but mostly I'd like a nice recliner position to relax in.

The lieflat has a nice recliner position. I started off by telling the rep I hate lie flats, how do I make it recline and stay there, he told me and it was perfect ^

I haven't been able to try the new seat yet, but I don't worry about my feet fitting in the foot well either. For my height, I have pretty small feet. I'm just shy of 6'5" but only wear a size 12 shoe.

Is it similar to the cradle position in the current 777 BF seat? I love that position when reading or watching movies. I usually go to it as soon as the meal is over, unless I'm going to sleep.

Oh well. Looks like I'll miss out on the IL-96 :(. Found HKT-ICN-PRG (instead of BKK-SVO-PRG), and it actually gets us into PRG several hours earlier than we would have otherwise.

It can be, but there was this odd pin pad device(honestly it looked like a candy vending machine pin pad with letters) that had no labels at all.
I messed around with and and spoke to the BE Aero rep and he told me some extra buttons on it, once getting it moving I stopped it right where I wanted, then moved the footrest alone the rest of the way up/down you can do it however you want. Sometimes I like to let me feet droop a bit, and sometimes I like it to be out all the way with some support(ie footrest in lie flat position)

New seat supported all that.

Most people were just using the 7 and A, which are auto buttons to go lie flat, as that was what everyone else was doing, following the herd :D

I would guess that most of us by now are accomplished in dealing with those abominable 777 old seats where you needed to cheat the adjustments in order to find a position that was comfortable for you.

The force of habit would have had me pushing all the buttons and looking for all the manual "cheat levers" that I could find on the theory that CO generally does not supply the best seats and in their new seats, the adjustments will probably need to be cheated.

I learned about the cheat on the 752 after the fact of having a footrest that came up a few degrees.....oh well I know next time. I hardly every use the footrest but when I want to I'd like it to actually be useful!
