This was actually discussed a few days ago in a random topic. :) It starts at post 94.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/conti...mar-1-a-3.html As Hartmann said, yes you can use it to get in to the Acela Club without an Amtrak ticket. This is great news. I am going tomorrow to the B&H Photo Superstore tomorrow and I would rather try out out the Amtrak club than fight for a seat in the NJT waiting area. For some reason I thought you needed a ticket on Amtrak. |

For some reason my National reservation in LAS is saying that my level of service is Emerald Aisle. Every other reservation I've made for 2009 shows Executive Selection (as they should).

Anyone else watch these NFL games this evening? Who would have thought Carolina getting KILLED at home?!?! And, Baltimore upsetting Tennessee in Nashville. Wow!

Did you rent at least a full-size? I think that's a prerequisite.

You mean to tell me non-homeless actually can get a seat in the NJT waiting area? I personally use the 8th Ave. mid level to avoid the crowds and to get a seat on the train.
Anyways I just shoveled my sidewalk, driveway and my elderly neighbor’s sidewalk. It was too damn cold to do her driveway. She shouldn’t be driving in this nasty weather anyway :p It is friggin cold outside. |

In other news, whenever it's "Canada'ing" outside, I get to cook Southern. Tonight was a fried battered pork chop with chorizo gravy, mashed potatoes, and cajun corn. A slightly modified version of this recipe. Ahh, I almost don't hate snow. ... today. |

Last month when I went into NYC and took the train there was no place to sit or stand in the ticket and waiting area for NJT at NY Penn. It was a mob scene. I got there about 45 minutes before departure and passed the Amtrak club and wondered if I was allowed to access it. Oh well, I guess I should have just tried it then.

On weekends there is always plenty of room on the 8th ave mid level (right below big room in Amtrak waiting area) They have monitors there and include the ones with the combine NJT/Amtrak ones (lower monitor) which usually posts first so you can be one of the first on board the train.
I will keep this in mind when I go tomorrow. |
