Why all the congratulations about this passing as if it's a done deal? It's not cleared the Senate yet.

The next time I am back at my mother's house, I will have to sneak onto her laptop and make that her start page. She doesn't know how to change that stuff, so that phone call should be fun. ^^^

Agreed. I can't stand when I have to bring a second pair of shoes someplace, much less pairs past that.

Morning, Box.

Oy -- The folks at the Intrepid museum are trying to get a space shuttle. If they do get it I certainly hope they don't put it outside on a barge in a salt-water environment. They've done that with the Concorde they have :(

I can think of far more deserving museums...

Because they think a seven-vote passing margin is a mandate.

(Brazil is looking better and better. I really don't care to have any more dealings with the society that depresses me in general, but I'll settle for finding someplace on the planet that has a shred of remaining common sense.)

The government dropped the price of acquisition for the two available shuttles recently. Initially, NASA wanted $42 million from the winning museums to cover the costs of demilitarization, removal of hazardous chemicals, etc. That fee is now at $28.8 million. Lowering the price gives more museums a shot, unfortunately.

And besides, the Intrepid spent a ton of money on their renovation which was not really a renovation.

How I understand it is that the first bill that passed last night was the bill that has already cleared the Senate. The second bill that was passed was changes to the first bill. The only thing that has to go to the Senate is the second bill.

No congratulations from me. They're pretty confident that the bill will clear the Senate rather quickly since they've already reviewed it.

Yep. Toiletries may prove to be a little problematic too.

Then you travel with too much "product." Deodorant, shaving cream, a razor, toothbrushes and toothpaste don't take up that much room. Everything else will be provided by the hotels.

I should also add that the President must sign the first bill before the Senate can pass the second one. The Senate cannot reconcile bills which have not been made law.

And like sdm1130 said, the Senate has already taken a count and they're almost 100% they can pass the changes as soon as the President signs the first bill.

I love visiting there, but have some issues with the changes of late there as well, yea the people supported most of them but they are weird things. And I'd hav eto go over to Germany to drive as fast as in the US :D

I do like the fact that Switzerland doesn't have all this stinkin light pollution at nights in the cities with street lights every few feet on interstate roadways however!

I have friends, and standing job offers there, so such would not be a bad option for me, and I'd pay more in taxes, but make 3-4x more than here too....
