discount codes?
looking to purchase tickets from ewr-lax for the summer. any one have any discount codes, or know when/if airfares will be coming down?

thanks The only discounts I've ever heard of for CO are the 5% off for purchasing with a CO branded card the first year - not sure if this is still going on. What you might find are certificates from previously canceled reservations, discount codes for other websites such as orbitz, expedia, etc. As for prices going down, I's say waiting until 3 weeks before departure is never too dangerous with LAX, because there are so many options. But if 4 to 6 weeks before departure ou haven't seen prices go down, they likely won't... |

While JL and CX may not be OnePass partners or marketing partners they are interline partners which means that CO can sell flights with them and through-check baggage, among other things. |
PIN reminder?
Every time I sign in to do anything, co.com takes me to a page to update my information and "optionally" create a username & password. It also *REQUIRES* a "PIN reminder" but no matter what I put in that field, it says it's invalid.
I tried calling their internet support desk but was told they have a high call volume and to try another time. Great service there.... the site is nearly unusable for me in the past 2 weeks because every time I log in, I get this page now.... I can go past it with the 'Update Later' button about 1 time in 10; the rest of the time it just lands in a loop, taking me back to the same page until I close my browser completely and start over. If this continues, I'm finding another airline for my travel; this is a PITA! |

Rather than start a new thread thought I'd ask here.
After having just booked a discounted biz class Z fare and getting a ticket number when checking my seat assignment I noted that almost one of the selections I made in the booking process were confirmed. Now, I'm not travelling until Jan 2011 so no real panic but kinda curious if this is a CO website issue lately and I should try back in a few days or a week. Z class would normally get seat assignment at time of booking, correct? It seemed a little odd that almost all, except a 777-200 flights IAH-EWR, failed to confirm a seat so thought it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks for any insights anyone can offer. I'm not wanting to call reservations just yet. |

Have made 5 reports to Continental.com; written emails and letters directly to Continental and still unable to redeem one pass miles when logged in to my account. I hope UA treat their elites better than CO?

HKG-EWR-HKG
Posting here as not sure if it needs a new thread. i'm flying HKG-EWR-HKG on CO98/99 next week. According to some posts, this route will note have new BF product until Oct/2010 but a friend who just took the flight a few weeks ago told me that his flight was already upgraded w the new product. Does anyone know if CO98/99 have already been fitted with new BF? Many thanks. (I took the new BF last month from EWR-LHR. Nice change from the old one.)

Chase Continental World Mastercard Scam
Hi all:
I recently applied for the Continental Chase World Mastercard pursuant to a promotion I saw online - 25k bonus miles after first purchase and waived of the $85.00 annual fee for the first year. However, they only gave me 20k miles and charged me the annual fee. When I called to complain, they asked me for proof of the offer I signed up for, which I didn't have because I didn't think it was necessary to print out the offer I was applying for. I then got a letter saying that they were "unable to confirm" the offer of 25k miles and waiver of first year annual fee. Has anyone had similar problems and if so, any advice on what I should do next? I am basically planning on canceling the card next month after I pay the balance. |

Quick question - I noticed car rentals and hotels are now bookable with miles on continental.com, provided you are a co-branded Chase/Continental cardmember. How recent of a development is this?

Upgrade with Miles - WARNING if traveling with a companion!
I am flying from IAH to SFO today with a companion on the same record locater. I upgraded the tickets (not the cheap fare bucket either) in March, and CO withdrew the miles expeditiously from my account, however, placed us both on a upgrade waiting list (2 seats sold in FC at the time of upgrading). Yesterday, I noticed at check-in that I had been upgraded, however, my traveling companion had not. After 40 minutes on the Elite line (Yes, that wonderful dedicated line that no longer has agents to work it), I was told that the computer split the reservation automatically, and only upgraded myself (though, we are both Plats), and at that time, there were no more first class seats available (others had been upgraded). The agent said that this should not have happened, however, CO has taken away much of their control of the system, hence there was very little they could do other than move me back to coach (which I did). As a warning, if you are traveling with your wife, business partner, significant other, etc. watch the automatic upgrade system. Great way to reward loyalty!:mad:
PS - I asked someone from CO to call me and explain to me why their system was configured this way. I'm still waiting for a response. |

WARNING: CO redoing seats,ticket may be worthless
I am an outraged Platinum who flies every week, and just learned that the ungradable $1400 coach ticket I bought months ago, Newark-Vegas, with CONFIRMED and assigned seats, is meaningless; supervisor just explained they are "restructuring " seats and flight 569 on May 26 now sold out and they cant even get me in coach. So they bump the Platinums who pay triple price for coach to get first class seats and then they cant even get us in coach? And they dont even notify me? Has anyone else had this? I am so upset....nice reward for my insane loyalty.
