Looks like you had a CO flight with a UA codeshare. I had a similar issue with a UA flight with a CO codeshare. UA itinerary TPA-IAH-DEN with a DEN-IAH-TPA return with the IAH-TPA/IAH-TPA legs a CO codeshare. The flights showed up on both UA and on CO with a separate CO conf #. On the return I did OLCI on ua.com but the CO leg had disappeared from the itinerary, although it was still showed up on co.com, but I couldn't do OLCI at co.com because the first leg was on UA. I'd been upgraded on the CO codeshare (I have no UA status) and that apparently made the CO leg disappear. So I had to get my CO BP at the airport.

Outbound I did OLCI at co.com and got BPs for both TPA-IAH and IAH-DEN. I had to change the CO-issued BPs for the UA flight at the IAH gate because the GA said their barcode reader wouldn't take CO-issued BPs. The major problem on that end was that even though I'd entered my CO OP # when booking the flight on ua.com and the flight showed up on co.com when I logged in to my OP account, my OP # did not attach to the itinerary. I didn't know that until I did OLCI for outbound and had no OP# or plat/gold status on the BPs (and thus may have missed an UG on the CO leg). So I called in, got my OP# attached to the itinerary, and as mentioned above, got the return CO leg upgraded.

So there's not seamless integration between the UA and CO systems yet.

Unable to Complete Check-in

I routinely wait-list for a mileage upgrade to first EWR to SFO, and sometimes clear just before the 24 hour OLCI window. Every time that this happens, I then cannot check-in for many hours. This is like clockwork. As in, if I could bet $1,000 that this would happen again next time, I wouldn't blink at taking the bet, easy money.

I've been given the obvious explanation by agents, I now don't bother calling.

I agree there is not a seamless integration between the UA and CO systems yet

I had similar difficulties on my SFO-EWR yesterday. Granted it was platinum heavy flight and did not get my hopes up. However, I would have liked to have at least been listed on the upgrade waitlist. After check in and still not on the list, I asked a PC agent to look at it. He finally got me on the list but my wife never did show up. I was told that since my first flight of the day had been EUG-SFO on UA and the SFO-EWR was on CO it messed up our status. Makes me wonder if we had been on at the 5 day mark would the mileage upgrade had cleared? Maybe. I guess I'll never know.

I think the agent is confused there. If the first flight is not on CO then you aren't actually checked in on the CO systems so you aren't on the waitlist yet. That is completely separate from the EUA processing. I would be quite surprised if having both on the res was messing up EUA, especially considering the number of folks who have gotten the EUAs with the mixed itineraries.

I agree and at the time I was thinking the same thing. I have spoke to enough agents about our misplaced status on this weekends trip and gotten so many different explanations I am taking them all in stride.
Something was still awry without explanation. I understand CO is researching the problem.
I figure it wont happen again - just a glitch this time

At least one odd thing in my case is that I could log in to my OP account on co.com and check my itineraries and both the UA and CO legs of the itinerary were there but when I checked in neither boarding pass showed my OP # or my status (Co plat/*A gold), so somehow there was a disconnect from the account and the FF#/Status. Baffles me how that could be, but there it is. I called and had it fixed so I'd at least have my early boarding, and soon after I got my 5-day advance upgrade on my return flight. Does make me wonder if I'd have gotten my outbound upgrade if I'd known my status was not attached to my itinerary. I assumed (natch) that since it showed up under my OP account it would have my OP# and status attached but not so -- somehow they're tracked separately in the system. I only found out when I printed the boarding pass and saw that the OP# and status weren't there.

Example:

I logged in to my Plat account and searched DEN-OGG 5/8 to 5/14, requested mileage upgrades on both legs, and stipulated CO metal only. All upgradeable legs are tagged with a $450 or $500 co-pay, which carries through to the end:

1 Adults (age 18 to 64) $696.01
1 Upgrade Reward(s) 35,000 Miles
Additional Taxes/FeesTicket Taxes/Fees $63.40
Reward Upgrade Service Fee $1,000.00
Total Price 35,000 Miles and $1,759.41
All LAX/SNA-OGG flights on 737s.

I've seen it show up initially and then on the final upgrade purchase page go back to miles + $0. But you say it carries through to the end and asks for your payment?

I bought a B fare TPA-EWR-PVG-EWR-TPA. The return EWR-TPA could not be upgraded (I am a Plat) on line or by an agent. The date is 2/19/2011.

I didn't mess with it. I just called an agent.

I get to the payment page, and the $1000 is still there. I'm not going to float CO $1000 for several days just to prove a point...

OnePass Statement "Save as PDF" broken

After logging in to Continental.com, and viewing a OnePass Statement, I click on "Save as PDF". The saved PDF file is not my statement, but instead a request to log in.

How would they even know if I did fill out this PDF with my login information?

I consider this bug a howler, more evidence in support of all the snarky "not the coldest beer in the fridge" comments people make here about CO.com's programming staff.

I received a confirmation that my upgrade EWR-HKG on 1/6/2011 cleared. It states departure to be 1/6 and Arrival to also be 1/6. This is incorrect, as the arrival is Jan 7. The original flight confirmation had it correct.

If this is an algorithm probelm, it is fairly serious. Someone reading this, and not referring to the original confirmation, may well make reservations for a connecting flight on 1/6, which they would most definitely miss.

Maybe they're considering the fact that those in the front of the plane arrive before the coach passengers.

Angry The 'Reward Travel Teasers'

Time and time again, searching for reward travel, when I attempt to confirm my desired itinerary (After confirming the previous 7 or 8 steps), I get; "! Were sorry, but continental.com was unable to complete your request. Please try later or contact the Electronic Support Desk in the U.S. and Canada call 1.800.300.1547; the U.K., phone 0800 096 1885; elsewhere use the local phone number."

This happens often and when contacting the Electronic Support Desk (Which I think is a bin they stick underneath the desk), they tell me this is not their problem, but because their partners post sectors that are not available. I then ask why the CO website doesn't check this when they list available sectors, and the CO rep says they can't. I then say, but you can check them when I want to book it, and after a few seconds, the rep said, YES !

Booking EWR-MNL, why as partner airlines do JL, CX show up?

My business is sending me on my first international trip ever to the Philippines for May 21-May28. However, when go to look at itineraries, all the CO options route me EWR-IAH-GUM-MNL which I understand. However, if I scroll down to the "Partner Airlines" section - instead of routing me on other *A carriers, I'll get the following:

EWR-NRT-MNL or EWR-IAH-NRT-MNL (with NRT-MNL on JL of all airlines! - why not ANA)
EWR-HKG-MNL (with HKG-MNL on CX - why even offer).

I don't understand why I'm not getting routed on Asiana via Seoul, or even ANA through NRT! JL and CX are not partners of CO in any way/shape/form!
