I've been trying to book a ticket SFO-LIM over the last few days and I keep getting this error-

! We’re sorry, but continental.com was unable to complete your
request. Please try later or contact the Electronic Support Desk in
the U.S. and Canada call 1.800.300.1547; the U.K., phone 0800 096
1885; elsewhere use the local phone number.

I called the number and they weren't sure what was wrong, I've sent an email and used the online contact form but still no replies yet.

There were a few pending authorizations placed on my card when I tried to book my flights but they dropped off after business hours like my CC company said they would after the phone rep told me to cancel the payments.

I just tried again this morning and got another pending authorization charge but no confirmation number or reservation

Did you try switching the CO.COm to the website in your area? This may help. OPPS! I just checked and I guess they are unable to sale in your area directly as they don't fly to or from there. There are limited areas they can slae from. Perhaps if you tried the England site?

TO CO.COM support:

In the past one was able to book reservations online using the Chase reward coupons. Now you have to call in to do this transaction. The support person I talked to said this is a hit or miss issue but I know I have used it in the past many times. Is there something that yall are doing to get this functionality back online?

I did like how the online representative told me that these Chase coupons are basically useless. I kinda figured they were, not like the coupons that Chase use to send out.

Online Booking Class Availability

Trying to book an LAX-JAN roundtrip (via IAH) on continental.com. Lowest fare website will present for dates/flights I want is G. KVS is showing availability in W and S classes (for all segments in each of those classes). Is KVS just not accurate, or is CO refusing to cough up the lower priced seat? If the latter, are there any secrets to getting this site to cooperate?

Actually, it's neither -- please see http://FAQ.KVSTool.com/

Auto Check In

Anyone else having this same problem? The last two times I've had RT tickets, I have unchecked the auto-check-in box on the website when I am checking in. However, both times, I have been checked in automatically. Any ideas why this is happening? I'm adraid it's affecting my mileathon status.

You need both the inventory available and to meet the requirements of the fare rules of whatever fare you are looking at.

In this particular case the lowest fare published on the LAX-JAN route is a G fare:

Of course, getting a clear and useful explanation like that from KVS rather than just a link to a webpage where you're left to sort out for yourself what is going on is pretty much impossible. Good thing you're paying for that service, huh?

Those W and S seats are for other city pairs that may use the same flights. So LAX-EWR might use the W seats on the same aircraft but you cannot get to them because your city pair doesn't have a fare published that can use them.

To KVS and sbm12: thanks. I'm a newbie to both KVS tool and continental.com so I'm stumbling a bit. I think what has confused me is that I know that there are W and S (and even N) fares on CO flight segments on this route, you can see them offered for sale on the CO website for some days and flights, even when you enter the LAX-JAN search. Just not for the schedule I need.

Not sure why you believe this may impact your Mileathon status. Online check-in does not earn you any Mileathon credits in this promo. Previous Mileathon, yes but not the current one.

Error viewing itinerary

I have a reservation which gives me an error when I click on the "View" link while logged in:
"! We were unable to review the latest information for this itinerary."
When I try to see it when not logged in the error message is:
"! We’re sorry, but continental.com was unable to complete your request. Please try later or contact the Electronic Support Desk in the U.S. and Canada call 1.800.300.1547; the U.K., phone 0800 096 1885; elsewhere use the local phone number."
Some potentially relevant information:
  • The reservation has 3 parts and 4 segments (EWR-XXX-IAD-YYY-EWR). The second part (XXX-IAD-YYY) was on UA (CO codeshare). UA modified my reservation when I paid for E+ (that was a big pain).
  • The error message only started appearing after I flew the UA segments (not after the E+ buy-up).
  • The UA site never showed the last flight (YYY-EWR) when I was able to see the reservation on UAL.com.
  • I did a SDC change on the first segment.
  • I have changed the title on my account (the reservation is Mr., the OP acct says Dr.), but this was not a problem on the previous segments.
  • I can see the receipt, and the electronic support desk sees the same problem, but has not been able to fix it. I suggested that they "synchronize" the reservation, as is often suggested here, but was told that it was synchronized.
  • This has been happening for over a week.

I'm worried that I won't get processed in the EUA sweeps or be able to do OLCI.

Update: I was able to do OLCI. I still cannot view the reservation, and the upgrade list order is strange.

I cant seem to login into my CO account. I get an error telling me to call CO. I called CO and they said they may be having some tech issues. Has anyone else had this today?

online check-in says i need to use a kiosk... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Unable to Complete Check-in

Your reservation requires special handling. Please check in at an airport kiosk.

Edit: I think it's an issue with Chrome and the new TSA requirements of collecting all my info. It seemed to get hung up on that page and when I tried it in IE, it worked fine.

What's up with co.com lately?! On almost every search for flights I get the following result:

"We're sorry, but continental.com was unable to complete your request due to a technical problem.
Please try later or call 1-800-300-1547 for assistance.
"

It sadly reminds me of my dl.com page Does anyone else has the same issues while trying to book?

CO.com is running real slow or barely. Must be having technical problems. The site is basically down.

New display format of flights to select. This is very hard to read. I assume it is a bug of some sort. I have not seen any discussion on this. Maybe it is just the use of Microsoft IE. But there are no separation lines between choices. This needs fixed ASAP.
