Sheraton
I'll also be staying at the Sheraton.
|
I know...

Thanks everybody else for the information. I am now booked at the Sheraton, too. |
Haven't booked my hotel yet, what kind of rates is the Sheraton offering? So far, my corp rate looks to be SIN$165.00 (or US$97.29) for a 'Deluxe Room'.

Rates seemed reasonable at the Conrad, so I'm booked there.. plus, there were plenty of positive FT reviews. :) Not bad - only SGD180 for fri-sat, goes up to SGD220 for sun night.
|
count me in! count me in! count me in!
How in the world did I miss this earlier
Count me in absolutely. This will be my 1st FT DO!!! ^ When do I get SIN.....I'm already here. Look forward to welcoming all of you to SIN! Those of you that need any help in SIN, just ask, I'll be happy to help. |

Perhaps we should rope in all those folks from the SQ board too... Sheraton SIN is having S$150 rate (non-refundable) rate recently. IMHO, there are better hotels than the Sheraton and at better locations. Check out the Le Meridien's, which hopefully SPG is able to complete the acquisition. |

Does this mean you'll be gracing us with your presence? :) |

Well, SYD-SIN isn't a bad hop .. would be nice if you could join us, since you'd be in the neighborhood (relatively speaking).

did you say SPA?
To the ladies coming.....
Last weekend, Mrs keithl & I were invited to a pre-opening tour of the spa at the recently re-opened Changi Meridien, now Changi village hotel and I have to say that it looks really really beautiful! http://www.lemeridien.com/singapore/...l_sg1669.shtml The spa will open Oct 5 so by the time you all come, it will be up and running. Its run by an external party who also run the spas at the Marriott and Hyatt downtown. why do I recommend it? Well, some of the treatment rooms are on the roof of the hotel, so you get a view of the sea; not that there's much to shout about in SIN; and some airport views. Best things is that they have 2 suites also on the roof but with a hottub and shower alfresco style! ^ |
Attention all UA 869 / 882 folks!
Hey guys/gals! There was a schedule change due to the addition of the Vietnam flights and as a result there are flight number changes.
HKG - SIN is no longer 869 but now 895 SIN - NRT is no longer 882 but now 838 I'm guessing UA 862 SIN-SFO is also affected for those on this route. Better go call UA and get your UD seats back. On a side note for those that were booked on UA 869 SFO-SIN we now get more miles :D SFO-HKG + HKG-SIN. |
Thanks kluau88!

Great call -- thanks so much!!!!! I called & was able to get three of my seats restored and changed one (positive change). |

But a quick call to UA fixed that and now I am back in the FT UD!! Best wishes, Dave |

Big thanks also to bseller & boris!
They had also changed my return from SIN-NRT-ORD to SIN-HKG-ORD. Now all is back to intact ^
|
I got back my original seats of 17B on the UD from SIN-NRT-ORD
Now I get more miles :) |
thanks klau!
I'm in 15H on the way there, and 16A (to NRT) and 15A (to SF) on the way back. |
Looks like we're recovering nicely! I wonder how many more Chinese firedrills we'll have to go through before our departure date?
|
The page has now been updated.
And it may even be correct. :) Let me know if I have mistyped anything or forgotten to include something or someone or gotten flight details or hotel details incorrect. 29 seats at dinner! Very cool turnout on the equator people....... See you soon, Mike |
mjm SFO-HKG is still UA 869....HKG-SIN is correctly listed as UA 895.
|
Clothing !
OK ! Who's going to order the T Shirts ?

I think that honor goes to ORD people - us SFO people are way too sophisticated for that :D |
Well I'm still on hold for this, hoping fares go down. But now w/ the new UA policy hoping I can hold upgrades. Thank gawd I have some allocated for Jan. But need fares to go down. Then I'm in.
United, NEW POLICY SUCKS re: the reserved category. What the HECK were you all thinking????!!!! Shanghai (in Feb) still looking ugly however for fare. Keep fingers crossed. |
Kev,
Good catch, thank you. The page should now reflect flight numbers accurately. Let me know if you see any other slip-ups. Talk to you soon, Mike |
Conrad vs. Sheraton
It appears that a lot of people booked the Sheraton. Is anyone staying at the Conrad? It is a nice hotel.

Hotel rates
Here are some hotel rates for 15-17 JAN 2005:
Conrad- S$180 (US$105) for the first night and S$220 (US$128) for the second night; Refundable rates Sheraton- S$215 (US$125), Refundable rate Intercontinetal- S$150 (US$87), non-refundable rate; S$170 (US$99), Refundable rate I've stayed at the Conrad and Sheraton before. I've been consistently upgraded as a HHonors Gold at the Conrad and have been given a junior suite at the Sheraton as a Platinum Preferred. Personally, I like the Conrad better because it is more well-kept than the Sheraton. |
Quote:
At the moment, I'm holding a Hilton reservation for the 1st night and the Conrad thereafter. However, last year, eagle eyed violist spotted a 3rd night free rate at the Conrad. Ever one for a bargain, I'll stay there all three nights if they do so again this year. |
conrad for us !
sean and i are at the conrad.. so we can raid the drinks in the exec lounge. :) well actually, now that SPG free weekends are back.. we might be at the Sheraton after all. :)
