Is BCN not mostly tourism? It recently had a frequency boost even.

Upthread, I said my piece which was the same thing but others disagreed and thought Spain was more "business" than Italy for some reason.

MAN is also hardly a financial hub.

It just occurred to me that both MUC and BRU are LH Group hubs. I assume the codeshare will be expanded to flights from these as well?

BRU, CDG, AMS are so close to each other, probably there's a lot of demand to the region. as for MUC it unlocks a lot of new 1 stop destinations via LH so that's nice.

ZRH is showing 4x weekly in August actually when I go to look versus daily now but MUC and BRU have been loaded and MXP is showing daily that week. I wonder if ZRH is getting trimmed to fund some of this.

Agree (though Brussels Airline is pretty small in LH group) and there seems to be cargo demand. It is also preferable to open 1 daily for European destinations than 2 daily for connections sake.

Who knows but maybe we will see VIE (another LH/OS hub) given the increasing demand to Eastern Europe from Chinese companies which set up their factories there in 2026.

I think Cathay still have enough widebodies available, given the utilization is not max now. It can also consider shifting Singapore, Dubai and Ridayh flights to the A330s and Japan, Indian, Sri Lankan or even Brisbane flights to B773s, replacing all the A350s. It can also extend its lease of the 77Ws or even re-lease some of those that are gone, if possible.

You know what else is about to be a LH Group hub...haha.

It is also preferable to avoid BA/LHR for connections...

You would think which is why its a bit strange ZRH is showing 4 weekly. I thought they just hadn't loaded the real schedule but MUC and BRU are loaded and MXP is daily.

yes, given their close connections (LH&CX) and LHR's logistics and its location is bad for connections.

Just feel like Vie is the most likely new destination in 2026 with increase in frequency in Man, Mad/BCN (or both), LHR/LGW ( i mean london in general, i know LGW is not served now). A lower possibility will be seasonal FCO, DUB. Thats pretty much it.

Hi, does anyone know if CX F out of LAX will continue to be offered after March 22nd, 2025? I would like to book a ticket to BKK but Google Flights isn't showing any availability. I do not mind waiting to book if it's a scheduling issue (trip would start in May 2025.)

Thank you!

Press release says daily. I'm assuming the schedule hasn't been loaded.
"daily flights to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Manchester, Milan, Paris and Zurich"

Cool thanks. I'll look out for it.

Will CX ever resume Istanbul?

Correct also pre covid.
Paris was twice daily and Frankfurt 10 times a week.

I agree that Vienna is an interesting option and would be great. Is that pure speculation on your part or have you also heard chatter about it from industry insiders?

majorpuppy Dec 3, 2024 8:00 pm

considering OS used to fly to VIE and it provides even more east europe access, if MUC performs well perhaps it would come back. maybe some bolder destinations like ATH, BUD or even BEG (lots of ties with mainland china) could work in the future as well if there are enough planes and demand.

though I think the markets that arent daily would go to daily before even more routes get added.
