Let me guess: Rome, Munich, London Gatwick as possibilities.

My completely unscientific guess: Rome, Munich and Dublin.

how is seattle as a top market for flights from hk possible when there are no direct flights from hk to seattle? If they're including flights involving a transit (such as taipei), i wonder how reliable that data would be.

For Europe, heard rumors of Munich and Brussels, other than that I guess it will be a UK destination. I also guess that there will be a increase of frequency for Manchester and Madrid to at least 1 daily sooner or later.

For Australia, I guess that Adelaide will resume sooner or later but Cathay will prioritise an increase in frequency for Perth and Brisbane to 2 daily, and if possible add another daily flight to Melbourne when the slot issues are sorted out.

Hope I'm not wrong, but I've heard that Cathay will launch Brussels 4 weekly next summer and Munich (not sure when and in what frequency, but 4 weekly from my uneducated guess).

Interesting, citation/source?

German-based Frankfurtflyer reported that CX filed an application for Munich airport slots, starting from June 2025.

Just from people within the airline and airport.

Is there strong business travel demand to Brussels? It's not a financial hub and I feel like the VFR & leisure demand is low. Connections are also already available through:
SIN: SQ 4x weekly,
BKK: TG daily (starting Dec 1),
NRT: NH 2x weekly,
PEK: HU daily,
PVG: HU 4x weekly, HO 3x weekly,
SZX: HU 3x weekly

Also, Amsterdam and Paris are pretty convenient to Brussels by high speed rail - Paris in particular is only 1.5h away. But I suppose you could make the case that if those other Asian cities have the demand to connect to it (when they connect to those nearby cities as well), there's got to be some demand for those direct flights in HK, and it could plausibly compete for transfers also.

BRU will capture AMS overflow, since AMS is now capacity constrained.

CX has slated China's Haikou (HAK) for daily flights beginning Apr 2025 [up from the current four weekly]

No official announcement yet but it's in line with the airline's previous expansion plan:

Your source was exactly right about this!

im guessing FCO is not coming back for quite a while. though its nice to see cathay finally start focusing on Europe again which has the lowest recovery rate, lots of daily flights too.

BRU, CDG, AMS are so close to each other, probably there's a lot of demand to the region. as for MUC it unlocks a lot of new 1 stop destinations via LH so that's nice.
