Although its out of topic, any ideas on what other middle or long haul destinations Hong Kong Airlines can launch? Thanks.

Good catch
CX733 HKGKUL 2130 0130+1 32Q 29MAR26-24OCT26
CX732 KULHKG 0245 0700 32Q 30MAR26-25OCT26

HB is trying this over CNY, and maybe CX wants to make sure HB doesn't stick? https://www.aeroroutes.com/eng/251229-hbfeb26kul

Perhaps. On that 4th daily HKG-KUL service that departed in the evening from HKG in the past, the return leg was not a red-eye service.

On another note, using a regional J bird on a red-eye is ridiculous, but I am sure they have their reasons.

HB is also do a HKG-FUK redeye over CNY which is just about enough to make consider trying them. I don't think they will have premium on this though.

Zero interest in going to those.

They are also doing TPE red eyes which are an eye too red for me.

It's a 4 hour flight with no time zone change on a route with multiple daily departures, not exactly the high yielding type of service, the main reason would be aircraft utilization as the 321s don't generally fly overnight.

However, the outbound does connect with a couple of NA daytime flights that land around 1900, only JFK would work on the return with a reasonable layover but the timing is absolutely brutal.

The return flight can connect to morning flights bound for East Asia.

Sure, but the vast majority already have nonstop service to KUL

Also connects to ORD, which the morning CX730 just misses.

Icn redeye pair

Found CX426/427 pair loaded for 26NS

A21N just like KUL

Those regional red eyes are just closet cargo flights anyway. Couriers and light, high value boxes

CX427 departs ICN at 1:55am. Currently, the oneworld lounge closes at 0:50am according to https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lou...s?location=ICN, and the last oneworld departure I can find is in fact QR859 which departs at 1:20am in the summer. The oneworld lounge may need to close a tiny bit later, or CX may need to send pax elsewhere.
