Speaking of that, if CSX is indeed axed, I will very much miss those outbound J fares...

HSR really hurts. Locals do HSR for short distances or sometimes even 7-8 hours distances (in HSR). It makes mainland China flight more reliant on transfer traffic.

URC has been loaded into CX's NS26 Schedule

CX998 0115/0700 A333 x235
CX997 1015/1605 A333 x235

CSX still hasn't been loaded back in. Doesn't look too good for the route just now.

The current seasonal service will start at the beginning of NS25 season and 4th weekly flight will be added from July. BCN is very likely to be boosted as a full-year destination next year.

Seems BCN is still seasonal? It's not available for booking for December 2026.

I think it'll be here for another year or so at least, it's quite common that the local government or PRC government (can't tell which is which sometimes) will subsidise the route? And with subsidy and the current volatile loading, I think CX can still make a profit out of it?

Find this quite surprising, given that the 3rd flight (currently 5x weekly) was around as early as 2017, if not earlier.

A rather recent SFO flight (892/893 pair) revealed loading was not that good as compared to the other two. Perhaps that’s the reason.

A side note was that CX kept the J price high until like 2-3 weeks before departure. So that could contributed to the light loading.

Effectively CX just taking away the third flight and send the A359 to SEA.

CX can't compete effectively on that route anymore shifting planes to a monopoly route.

Shame, along with QR going from 7x weekly at SFO to 5x weekly. The lack of AS/OW presence definitely doesn't help.

Would prefer the old schedule when there was a choice of morning / evening flight

Also quite a wacky choice of flight number

The 3rd pair was launched in Jun. 2015 for 3x weekly per https://www.swirepacific.com/en/inve...ghts-from-june

If we are doing intra-E/SE Asia trips then insomnia sleeper services or overnight in HK are required haha. But could benefit long-haul transits I assume.
