Will CX resume BCN? Was BCN always been a seasonal destination? When do CX usually start to sell seats to BCN?

they do summer time alongside MAD. so either MAD or BCN usually 3 or 4.flights a week to either to make daily to Spain

We are booked on this route in May, not sure when they actually resume the service though.

End-March is the start of summer schedule, which will last until end-October. So December would be in the following winter schedule I’m afraid.

CX stated additional flights are arranged between HKG-LHR and HKG-ZRH in March only due to the current middle-east situation. I have not found these flights on flight timetable nor expertflyer yet.

Wonder who they get the slots from? Probably EK or QR?

ZRH seems to be merely a capacity increase to the 77K, I'm very interested in how the additional flights to LHR would run though - just like CX2251 during covid?

This means on 28/Mar there will be 7 CX flights on a single day from HKG to LHR (5 regular daily plus 2251 and 2237 which is a season-switch flight)! Must be a record for CX?

What is the deal with the season-switch flight?

Could be a potential opportunity for CX to gain some long-term converts out of this and make increased capacity permanent, either because they find they like aspects of the brand/the direct service more or because the Gulf continues to be iffy for some time. Perhaps it could even make the case for returning to LGW...

It won't be permanent. These slots likely coming from the remains of the 80:20 rule: an airline must use 80% of its allocated slot during a given period. For example: Cathay has 5 daily slots. Therefore, during the year, Cathay must utilise this slot on 292 / 365 days. On the other days, it can choose not to fly and reallocate said resource to another route/maintenance.

This, combined with reduced operations from QR/EK/EY means some sort of special dispensation was likely granted.

The Dubai and Riyadh planes seem to have got out that night. Those are definitely resources that have been spared to allow the additional LHR flights.
