BBC News 24 reporting Stansted re-opened, but Luton closed (sounds definite).

Eurostar still not picking up phone... I have 24 hours to get off this island, armed with some data that doesn't yet exist...

I'm currently right near LHR and it's still snowing quite heavily.

I was going to catch HEX into London today but it might not be happening until a bit later.

My friend who landed at 0650 (1hr30 ago) on the BA294 from Chicago is still stuck on the plane waiting for a stand! They have been told to turn off the engines now and sit and wait. The crew just brought tea and biscuits round and have put the IFE back on!

I'm in the office in the West End, eerily quiet (1 vehicle on Oxford St every 2 minutes - mostly delivery vans). My usual coffee shop is not open (yet) and I have the office to myself.

Piccadilly line was working fine, if a little sluggish this morning.

Lucky there was only a half hour delay from TLV to LHR last night.

NW London is very snowy this morning...

I am staying at home today!

Trains from Peterborough to London are running OK. Tubes a waste of time trying. No buses. A few brave taxis out and about.

Have made it to Paddington (my office), now to try the Heathrow Connect since HEX has been hex'd.

No HEX and the Connect was showing as 'Delayed' at Paddington. Lots of upset tourists milling around on the concourse.

Had an e-mail from BA1A at 8am - he's stuck on BA138 at LHR - they got down before the closure, but as nothing is taking off, no stands available... Just enquiring as to whether they have the bubbly flowing.

The Northern Line is still running while every other line is down?

Strange times indeed...
