ARRRRRGH!!! I must have had loads of re-routes over the last 7 years and I didn't know that! I never bother reading T &Cs (nor manuals that come with things - attention to detail is not my best strength)>I must have lost hunderds of points over the last 7 years!

Don't you just love this from the Independent on Sunday:

Best Overall Comment on the Weather: At the peak of Monday's online moanfest about the difficulties of getting to work, David Taylor of Southend wrote this on the BBC message board:
"As I started working from home a year ago, I did find it nearly impossible to get out of bed and trudge across the landing to my office. The BBC wasn't very helpful... there were no reports of holdups near the airing cupboard and the bathroom interchange was almost impassable. Gritting was nearly useless – but with the cold floors, it was to be expected. Cancellations were widespread. No bacon and eggs. I had to make do with a replacement toast service. I hope I get home tonight."

According to the News 24 forecast this am they aren't sure!

It might be no more than rain and sleet, and the worst of it will pass through around Monday midnight.

Apparently a lady called Gail Forswinds is arriving in the south on Monday/Tuesday along with heavy rain and snow in some parts.

There was enough snow at EDI this morning to cause delays. The 8713 finally arrived at LCY at 11.20, although I'm glad I didn't go for the 8711, as it was 3 1/2 hours late.

New York

Looks like it might snow a bit in NY over the next 24 hours:

I'm sure they'll deal with it as lamentably as we did...

Last time I got stuck at JFK it only snowed about 2 inches.
JFK ran out of de-icing fluid for the aircraft after a couple of hours. 8JFK is really crap at handling weather)

The captain of our BA 747 announced at the gate that our taxi to the runway would be approx. 4 hours (!!) ... turned out he was right !

BA staff were however great. I was originally booked on the 22:30 flight but was at JFK by 20:00. They immediately offered to rebook me onto the 20:30 (?) as they "want to get everyone out as soon as possible". This was on a Wt+ fare which was MFU'd to CW !

Connection from LHR to FRA was also automatically re-booked to the next flight. Sometimes BA does get it right ! ^

am in T5 right now, BA has just cancelled 2 flights to New York due to "inclement weather"...so yes, NY is dealing with their snow nicely too (though I think they got a lot more of it than we did!)
