Storm Ciara, the third and most significant UK storm of the winter, is due to land on the night of Saturday 8 February and have an impact on transport provisions on Sunday 9 February. The whole of the UK and Ireland is in scope but the south of the UK may well bear the brunt. Posts 56 gives general advice, post 66 has the customer guideline for shorthaul services, which allows European travel to be be moved to 4 alternative dates. For cancelled services go to post 302 for LHR and post 292 for LGW., post 261 for LCY

Strictly speaking it is for Iberia to resolve this (for which I wish you the best of luck). If you are within 24 hours of departure you could ring BA to see what they would do on the basis of being under airport control, though it's not clear to me what the best answer would be for you unless you're ok to fly on Tuesday for example.

Changed my Gla-LHR flight online but there is an issue displaying the new flight in my bookings. Seems the website is having issues too. No email confirmation either

My AA109 to LA tomorrow morning (final destination SFO) has just been cancelled. It says they are working to rebook me.

It's a BA(125) ticket so clearly long haul is being affected and if the 777-300 can't make it, not sure what will tomorrow morning! Is it worth doing anything or shall I wait to be rebooked? On this occasion it's a TA issued ticket.

Is there a thread for compensation/claims etc.... Just seeing what one can claim for in the event of the flight going....

A big thanks to CWS for all his efforts today.

OK, so you're under airport control. Ring BA and ask for a routing via JFK, would be my advice. If that goes nowhere, and assuming the TA isn't helpful, turn up at T3 tomorrow with a good book to read.

Yes, the main EC261 thread in the Dashboard, in short you can claim food, communication, hotel fees for any delays experienced, but almost certainly no delay compensation. Key thing: get receipts and photo them on to your phone.

Very strong winds forecast in Switzerland as well from Sunday evening to Tuesday. I would expect delays as well.

BSL will be particularly challenging with the strong crosswind component, ZRH can switch to runway 28 arrivals when strong westerly winds prevail but it will be challenging nonetheless.

Safe travels everyone.

Other airlines?

[Clearly not BA related, but this is the only thread currently active on FT relating to LHR problems tomorrow, so I hope the mods will leave]

what is the situation for other airlines tomorrow, especially the once-a-day long haul crowd - are they more likely to get a slot, or are they just as much as BA likely to cancel? Specifically, KC from/to Astana...

If anyone is on a holiday I emailed the ba duty office and they amended the flight for me. I was also calling and they replied after 30 mins so it is worth an email

the old booking is still showing so I assume it will eventually show the new one
