Onboard WiFi has been introduced to BA's fleet and is being marketed as Highlife Connect. This thread is to track the rollout. See https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb.../wifi-on-board for BA's FAQ on the system.

They're all fitted and have been for a while. It's just a case of switching the wifi on. I don't know if any more short-haul aircraft have been added to the list in the past few months or not.

I’ve been on a large number recently and not had WiFi on any aircraft not on the list. Do you know why there’s now a hold up? Or when some more will be “activated”?

My guess / opinion is that the EAN system is rubbish and causes more problems than it should so BA are waiting for the system to be improved before fully rolling it out. I'd give it another nine months.... (not sure myself if I'm exaggerating or not).

I am going to assume that this will have been tried and tested, and is going to not work but here goes; does anybody know if it is possible to share the BA WiFi connection over a Bluetooth PAN or if it is somehow blocked?

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve, but most Androids have a kind of "modem" option where if you activate WiFi on your phone, and then plug it into your laptop, your laptop will be able to use that connection. Without going into too much detail, the WiFi operator shouldn't see anything.

I was on G-EUYM on BA873 from KRK today. BA wifi was in but being a Scot I did nit purchase it.

I did use the free 'how long to go'on the landing page.

It had remaining flight time, alltitude and ground speed.

I also notice we landed at 18:15 and the pagr said we still had 19 minutes to go.

From the Wiki:

G-STBF - Currently in CWL. Estimated return to service early January
NO WiFi today on G-STBF, was in CWL 23-27Dec but appears to have NOT been fitted unfortunately.

Is there a new pricing structure rendering the information in the Wiki obsolete? Sitting on a 789 out of NRT and there is no option of Browse or Stream packages, only one priced at £21.99 for the flight (I forget the 1 hour and 4 hour prices).

Same with the LAX route a few weeks ago on the 747. if I wanted the whole flight I was only offered one option at £19.99

DEL - LHR Wifi

The WIFI is on the LHR - DEL route 777-200 is pretty good.

GBP17.99 “streaming” which is pretty quick - can play YouTube movies - which surprised me.

Available from about 20 mins into a flight and up to about 20 mins from landing.

Best

What’s the difference between Mid-J and Super Hi-J 747? I am flying G-CIVB to Miami next week and it isn’t on the WiFi list which is a shame as its in first and wanted some free wifi!

Edit: Looking at FR24 seems it has been over the last seven days or so G-CIVK,L and also C so who knows which plane I will get on Wednesday.

The difference between the two types is the seating arrangement. The Mid-J's are in a 14/52/36/235 configuration, the super Hi-J's are 14/86/30/145. The Mid-J's are generally older and due to be retired earlier which is partly the reason they're not getting WiFi fitted, somewhere between three and five of this type are being retired this year.

I'm on BA2664 next Saturday 15 Feb. Does anyone know if the operating aircraft will have wifi ? It's LGW-TFS

G-GATP operated today, which seems to have it according to the wiki.

Fingers crossed for next week.
