Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.
This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start.The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.
Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833

Wow, it's going to be like a real airline again! A change will be great.
I'm diabolically upset that I chose to book an O class EuroTraveller fare to PSA next month, rather than Club Europe.
Is that a promise?
Clearly I am the only person who loved the scones. The rest I could take or leave but I will miss scarfing down 2 scones, halved, covered in jam and cream while sipping some Champagne. Afternoon tea cake is in my book.
That being said, I am looking forward to the change. As luck would have it, I'm flying on Sunday too. Two flights - brunch and lunch. I'll report back in some form or another!

Don't be silly, this is BA. In an effort to reduce costs and hit a middle management bonus target they've ended up with two entirely separate outsourced supply chains that provide identical offerings either side of a piece of blue fabric hanging from an aircraft ceiling.

The scones are the only, and I really do mean the only, good thing about the afternoon tea service. I have typically ordered the low fat special meal and then had a scone anyway if I've ever ended up on an afternoon tea service with enough notice. Most of the crew seem to 'get it' also when I ask for a scone and realise I'm only having the low fat meal to avoid the dry sandwiches/cakes!

As a flyer based in a city in the 'medium' category this certainly doesn't look too promising. I am curious to see what a 'hot sandwich' means. A double toast with ham and cheese or something to that effect? Sounds more like a simple snack item than lunch or dinner

Asked on twitter, not sure they got a memo yet, but they claim hot sandwiches will be offered on domestic CE only.

The potential loss of a hot meal on a 'medium' route is extremely disappointing, specifically at dinner time. Lunch I think a salad or sandwich is fair enough. I've got an OSL next week at 2100;- a salad or sandwich after a day at work and for £700 return isn't good enough.

From my understanding of the new service, the only service to get a full hot meal will be those in the Long Band. The improvement on these routes is quite large.

For lunch and dinner you can choose between a fresh salad and a hot sandwich (on flights within the UK) or a tasty hot meal accompanied by warm bread and a full bar service (on flights within Europe).
This clearly indicates that a hot meal will be served on all European flights for lunch/dinner. They even distinguish between hot sandwich and hot meal, and no reference to shorter or longer European flights.
Of course this this could be another example of misinformation that littlegirl refers to.
