Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start. The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833

Note posts before 1-832 are typically the April 2017 menu. 833 and above is from the menu for May 2017.

Yes, this is a particular concern to me. Unless I'm much mistaken if someone does NCL-LHR-CDG at lunch then evening, and then returns the next day, they may end up with the same salad option on all 4 sectors. The flatbread contents would potentially be different however, and obviously an alternative to the salad. But your core point is that we may end up with an AA style situation, with the same old meal popping up with monotonous regularity.

I'm sure the SPML situation will become clear shortly.

Yes I do (having just rolled off precisely this flight!). BA876 is a bit of a moveable feast. Today it was supposed to leave at 08:00 (but was 85 minutes late), on other days, such as Saturdays, it leaves at 15:50. The A indicates when it's not a breakfast flight, so scheduled to depart after 09:30 hrs, this is the "rest of the day" meal menu.

Thank you! Makes perfect sense as indeed I am flying on the Saturday 15h50 flight.

I suspect that's the new norm. The mozzarella salad that was the near universal first special meal was also a starter on long.

The flatbread looks really poor incidentally, and that is pretty much what had been introduced in Y a few years ago (though not warm). Sad excuse for a C meal on European flights (I can possibly understand on domestic and extra short European flights like Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam but not beyond).

I don't think it's been mentioned yet and it's a small thing but the salt and pepper sachets are now supplied wrapped up in the napkin with the cutlery.

I'm sure some of them are ending up on the floor!

What do you mean by that (limited bar)? I am flying ZRH-LCY on Thursday.

Domestic flights are awaiting a licence of some sort to carry the same drinks as European flights as I was informed by the CSM. You will be OK

Looks very nice. Certainly the best domestic meal I've seen so far. ^

It was good especially the sweet. Just the right amount and more than I expected.

Looks nice,

That's better than the LHR meals which are the tiny salad or panini on Domestic.

If this had been the standard on all routes then I think the overall improvements would have been a winner.

We should think ourselves lucky, although this did make me chuckle!

Man who ordered gluten-free meal on flight is given a single banana – and cutlery to eat it with

I think it's been posted above but this is what I got on my FRA-LHR (BA915) on the 1st May.

Duck Breast with Salad as the main, Cheese/Biscuits/Mango Chutney(?) with the rather delicious Chocolate Pudding thing. The meat was a tiny bit rubbery for my liking but otherwise it was all rather tasty. As a newbie to CE I can't compare to the previous catering.

I'm still a bit puzzled as to why everyone seems to get the little milk potion. 4 of us in CE on this flight and only 1 person took a hot drink. Why not offer the milk to those who take hot drinks? Unless I'm missing something of course.
