Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.
This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start. The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.
Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833

Note posts before 1-832 are typically the April 2017 menu. 833 and above is from the menu for May 2017.

On MAN and LBA there is no choice but the inadequate 'afternoon tea'. I like the ploughmans, probably my favourite CE short band offering but sadly on my most often flown CE sector (MAN) I can no longer have it. Needless to say BA have been getting my feedback.

Well, regular afternoon tea includes the option of the ploughmans, which looks alright from the photos on here (even if it is limited supply). Even the standard sandwiches at least come with a more interesting filling than whatever the vegan ones have. You can also have butter - does BA carry any vegan equivalent? (none pictured in your photo) There is also a reasonably interesting cake/dessert on the regular tray, which has morphed into a couple of slices of fruit for our vegan friends.
Even if you decide to forget the food and just have a cup of tea, you only have the option of soy milk. To be fair I've only ever tried soy milk in coffee, but can't imagine it does much for the flavour of tea either.
So yes, I think it does make a difference.

"Lunch"
A chicken salad or some sort of panino. It was tasty though a bit small. Crew were great, but agree with everyone above that the new almonds are horrifically bland and have quite a strange texture.

Ploughman’s on the 1630 flight to Edinburgh last night - much better than the panini or salad that is offered later on!

Flying Geneva to LCY. Any idea what meal would be, it is the 2055 departure. Just wondering likely to be a fish choice, or I should pre-order veg to be safe.
Many Thanks

Datapoint: LCA-LHR, April 2018
Thought I should contribute this datapoint, having benefited from lots of info and advice from others on this forum.
The menu appears different from that in the wiki (at the top of this thread) this month for long CE flights. Late last month, when I flew LHR-LCA the menu seemed to follow the wiki, whereas on the way back, it was as attached. As you can see, I had the cod ... which looked like a mess but tasted reasonably good. The coffee dessert was certainly not a joy, by any means, unlike many BA desserts which are usually better.
(Apologies for attaching pdfs rather than embedding jpegs - when I attempt to embed images as jpeg files the top gets chopped off!)

I had both of those on my flights to and from CPH - both were nice enough, but think i preferred the first one, it had a bit more flavour. They were fine as a light snack, needed to be at least treble the size to be an actual meal.

I’m hoping the CE catering refresh introduces more variety - it was either the chicken salad or panini on 3 out of 4 sectors this weekend. Whilst the chicken salad was tasty I was very pleased to get the ploughman’s lunch this afternoon between LHR and EDI.
