I think you are correct in the general public having problems understanding the full picture.
Post 7 says that CSM's have had no pay rise since 2010, yet post 1016 says they have had a pay rise every year. Also, is it really the case that somebody who joined MF 3 or 4 years ago on £12k is still on £12k. I find that difficult to believe.
I don't think public sympathy was ever with the crews (certainly not with Unite)

It is very possible that someone who has been with the fleet since the beginning hasn't increased beyond their starting salary as not everybody can or will progress to CSM. There always needs to be cabin crew, not everyone will become a senior.
Although the comments section of the Mail or Sky News is more broadly indicative of the general public, it isn't of our commercially important frequent fliers or of our shareholders who have broadly been publicly supportive.

As for shareholders in IAG being publicly supportive of the action, I would be interested where and when this support manifested itself.

But that's not what you said in post 7. You said no pay rise at all in 6 years, when it appears that there was actually a pay rise every year for many (just not the right sort of pay rise) - you really couldn't make it up.

The support both online as well as onboard has been overwhelming. People can see the poor pay and terms and conditions and realise that the increases the union are asking for for Mixed Fleet are not outrageous but are bringing BA up to market rate (considering BA sold MF as being market rate plus 10%). BA and specifically the CEO have not come out of this looking particularly good, instead looking like a flying workhouse. Again, this isn't about asking for an unsustainable salary but instead to meet the market rate and in line with the cost of living.

That would be hilarious!
11 January strike and a statement from MF
"We at MF are not only paid awfully, but now BA is trying to starve our passengers and are forcing us to be salesmen as well! If I wanted that I would have worked at U2 or FR, at least they pay me more than BA!" = )))
