Just spoken to CR, apparently there's a specialist team handling these fares now and I will be called back within 48 hours. Knowing how the back office processes work... I will not be dropping this.

Not sure how the downgrade would work though - surely the downgrade would be F -> J
Very messy now that the first sector has been flown if you ask me

No difference under EC261 if you're downgraded to J, WTP or WT - just counts as "a downgrade" (odd, I know...)

I think it's just one more BA cock-up. Somebody from BA is following this thread and issued a panic instruction to PRG not to allow the TATL BP. However, they didn't bother to check that the booking was still sound on AA stock. That's my guess.
AA has publicly announced the fare will be honoured, and hats off to them for that. BA, meanwhile, thinking of short-term bottom line again, does not realise the effect of their compound incompetence.
To those about to arrive at LHR from PRG, ensure BA know they cannot touch your AA ticket. And publicly tweet AA if BA deny boarding or force downgrades. Continue with your journey since I am sure AA will honour their F sectors.

It's pretty poor show of BA if people are let on the PRG-LHR sector and then be downgraded for the TATL sector. What happen going the other way after AA issues the tickets in CUN for all the sectors? Downgraded at the gate?
How is it revenue protection at that point? Do they really have that many walk-up F people? Or is it needing F space for operational reasons?
I did book the PRG-*-CUN but it got cancelled, no dramas; it was pie in the sky anyway. But those already on the way, British Airways ought to just suck it up in the same way some of us have just sucked up the cancellations. Otherwise it's starting to look a bit petty and very unprofessional for BA.
