Well, I was one of the lucky ones who stayed under the radar on this one. Had a great week in San José del Cabo recently. Flew BA F LHR-LAX (A380) on the way out, AA F DFW-LHR (77W) on the way back; lots to like about both, but I felt like BA shaded everything except the food onboard. My gf, whose sole experience of F before this trip was a trip to DME last year, felt more strongly that BA were far better than AA - in her words, "everything just somehow felt more special". She now tells me she'll no longer put up with any travel that doesn't involve getting free pyjamas. Also, we both thought the QF/oneworld J lounge in LAX was outstanding, while AA's DFW "flagship" dining room felt like a small BA outstation J lounge.

Congratulations on what sounds like a lovely (and very cost effective!) trip!
