Alas! look like they only upgrade the not-so-busy route. I have not been lucky so far.

Lhr - yyc

Checked in online yesterday before ncl-yyc via LHR today.
Booked last minute in the sale to surprise sister on her 40th.
WT out WTP back.
On arrival at NCL presented with new boarding pass for LHR-YYC in WTP. First free upgrade for me on BA.

Which just goes to show how futile it is for outsiders like us to try to read the tea leaves of availability displays.

FWIW, the remainder of the availability display at the moment is J2 C0 D0 R0 I0 W3 E0 T0.

When OLCI opened yesterday I snagged the twin seats at the back which I suppose may be a factor if someone particularly wanted them.

Bumped up from PE to CW

Just gone to Check-in for the BA106 DXB-LHR on Sunday and to my surprise BA have put me in CW. Quickly changed seats to a Window on the main deck as I've seen from experience what it is sitting by the aisle.

On BA 270 LHR-LAS earlier this week, I was op-upped from WT to CW!. I had already volunteered to transfer to the later flight that evening, as BA 270 was overbooked due to a change of aircraft type (747 to 777); however, at the gate I was issued with a CW boarding pass instead.

KARFA and I travelled back from Nice today - 12 rows of CE and a pretty full ET cabin, and he got upgraded. I didn't. I'm not bitter....... :-) At least the seat he would have been in remained empty!

7 Jan, BA212 (BOS-LHR) CW to F upgrade appeared on the app about 3 hr prior to departure. Per EF, WT and WT+ had been all noughts for several days.

Off thread. Do you have a flyertalk tag on your bag? After I apparently walked past you in HKG last summer I have been seeing someone with a flyer talk tag on LBA flights recently.

Not that I will be on LBA much more since the schedule changes/flight reductions- still trying to work through and rebook all my flights as they now miss connections.

I do, and yes I was passing through HKG last August so that could have been me. Probably me on LBA flights too. Do feel free to say hello if you spot me in future.

Yes, same problem here. I still have all my booking to sort our after March where they no longer work due to rebooking. Also I can't imagine I would be on the route once it's downgraded.

I thought you quite liked BA.

Why would you want to boo them?

(Hat, coat...)
