2015 POUG rate tracker
Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you.
POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner. You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

We were offered £112pp one way Gatwick-TFS, ET to CE 10th March (not sure how to update the wiki?). Snapped it up; not been offered the return but I don't think we'll be tempted even if so. Nice bit of fizz in the lounge will start the holiday off nicely.

VRN-LGW €139 (£104) 24th Feb

Spent £31 on original ticket, Business ticket currently ~£300 so a good deal vs the standard rate. Don't think I'm going to take it, I don't need the miles and am travelling with the Mrs who doesn't drink... (old romantic that I am).

It's the first time I've been offered this on an avios booking. Does anyone know if I do this will I get TP and Avios?

HAM - £90 both ways offered today for a return flight in August.

I'm not sure if I want to take it or not. It depends on whether I'll decide to attempt reaching Gold next year.

Only you can decide whether £180 on this is a good way to spend your money for the extra space / comfort rather than on something else (it would be for me on that route if the flight was likely to be busy). You will also get slightly improved food, some extra Avios and Tier Points (if those are relevant to you, and assuming your WT ticket is not a reward ticket), and depending on the size of your party, the 2-4-2 seating may be more suitable than 3-3-3 or 3-4-3.

One other small point and it will depend how busy immigration is, but you'd also be off the aircraft before the WT pax, so a few less people in front of you at US immigration.

[Edit - you'd also get 2 pieces of checked baggage, in both directions even if you only upgraded one way]

As you can see from posts above, these days people are regularly being offered £120-130 for much shorter journeys in CE, so in those terms it is relatively good value, but you should think of the absolute value you'd get from spending the money.
