2015 POUG rate tracker
Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you.
POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner. You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Whenever it's happened to me prior to OLCI though I've noticed my seat has already been changed for me. At any rate, grab a good one (if any good ones remain).
Checked in, still in 4A, POUG wasn't offered anymore when I checked in. ET showed most of the seats already selected, less than ten were available to select.

Unless they move me at the airport I assume CE stops at 3 rows and I will be in the first row of ET. 4B was still not being displayed as a seat during OLCI, not sure why that seat can't be picked..?

This must be a busy day. BA456? Several planes, including this one, look heavily oversold. It is possible that several people will be offloaded.

If BA decides to expand the J cabin, the passengers in those rows are ejected and the rows are re-configured to business.

At this point there are now too many Y pax for the Y cabin but there are some free seats left in the J cabin.

An unknown algorithm looks through the passenger manifest and decides whom to upgrade. This is based on time of check in (earlier the better), executive club status, fare class, number of prior upgrades, and probably more things we don't know about.

Meanwhile another algorithm decides whom to offload and rebook onto alternative services. We don't know how that works, except that pax with connections and pax with already checked-in luggage are unlikely to be moved.

If these are the "space expander" seats, the first B seat behind the curtain is not used because the C seat would jut out compared to the seat C in front. This, in combination with the curtain, leaves the passenger's aisle-side knee from that seat at risk of collision with the trolley. Therefore the B seat is left "unexpanded" so that the C seat does not jut out.

Thanks for the explanations, helpful as I fly this route weekly so it's nice to know.

I have one seat on the 464 but I have four friends flying on the 518 about half an hour before me (op by Iberia). Ideally if they offer any bumping off we would happily accept and try to get on the same flight but not sure it's as simple as that. In any case between us all we have enough people with Sapphire status to enable us all to spend some time in the lounge so if we have to go on separate flights it's not the end of the world.

It's not normally this busy when I fly this route so I put it down to being the first weekend of half term?

I've been offered $808 WTP to CW LAX-LHR for March 24.. I only booked 48 hours ago.

My travel companion also booked on the same LAX-LHR flight has been offered WT to WTP for $315.

Does anyone know if these offers *might* go down closer to the day or if these pougs are a good price?

Thanks!

Still in 4A in ET, no offloading offered, 4 pax on BA518 also not offered offloading or POUG but is currently 11 seats overbooked in ET apparently. Will travel on separate flights and meet at the baggage belt in MAD!

Hello,

I've recently bought a ticket LHR-WAW-LHR for two, it offers me POUG for £110 per person, each way. For ticket bought in September for May 2015 I paid £72 for POUG. Bit disappointed that the price went up.

For my other tickets is offered £110 for LGW-AMS, while AMS-LHR was £90 and other AMS-LCY was £69.

Hope that helps!

'Convertible' is the word you're looking for

These seats are only left on the 737 and shorthaul 767, and rapidly disappearing from the A319 fleet as they are refurbished.

Regarding $808 LAX-LHR: in my experience, most of the WT+ to CW from east coast price out at over $850, so i would certainly pay $808 from LAX. $850 from east coast is a but much
