Quick Q on booking via AA.com

Booked my trip yesterday afternoon on AA.com (4 BA flights, 2 AA flights), but reservation is "on request". Fare rules said (IIRC) ticketing by 20 March so obviously flights cost a fair bit more today - anyone have experience of whether this is likely to get ticketed or if it's a case of 'tough luck'?

Not a major issue as got positioning flights as Avios RFS and will just wait for the next sale of some description. Should have booked sooner may be lesson...

Thx

This is standard when booking reservations with codeshare on AA.com - the confirmation comes through about an hour or two later.

Now just need to come up with best way to fit in various places between arrival and departure (family in LAX, friends in NYC and SEA etc)
Frustratingly I was looking to do the same thing (ex-DUB), but alas prices jumped back up as has been discussed above. I'll still be making the trip to the states anyway, but it's going to involve avios redemption for CW.

I'm not sure if I'm going to make Silver again for next year now... if I'd booked this trip in CW (ex-eu) then I would have got gold if my (still uncertain) work trips go ahead, and if not I would have kept silver. Now it'll be silver or Bronze... I may have to look at doing a mini TP run whilst in the US.

In the mean time I'll have to keep an eye out for further ex-eu offers.

Thanks. Unfortunately still "on request" 24 hours later - booked around 3pm London time so wasn't cutting it particularly fine...

Don't worry about the on request thing on AA.com

I had the same. It took about 48-72hrs. This was after the fare had expired. They honour the fare even if it tickets after the sale by date.

Thanks for the reassurance - now I can get on with working out in which order I decide to cross-cross the US without feeling it's possibly not worthwhile

Hello,

I will go to ATL around 26/9. Anyone has an idea how to get the most TP out of it?

Leaving Bru, LUX, AMS?

I am prepared to do some Runs locally in the USA

I have not been able to book LCY-JFK on AA.com. Also - I have not been able to book AA codes on BA.com. How did you manage this? Another engine like expedia?

Thanks,

LCY-JFK shows up on AA.com, but sometimes it doesn't access the I fare bucket for some reason and therefore comes up way more pricey.

BA is always willing to book up these itineraries, including AA prime flights, if you pick up the phone.

Multi-city tool on AA.com and specify LCY rather than London. Gives option under AA, IB or BA codes (select oneworld rather than just AA flights on the first screen)

I did a SJU-MIA-LAX-HNL in I/A/A TP run on March 9, and I was looking forward to seeing my 460 TP on my statement, but not even after claiming them on the BAEC website they have not posted... do you guys know what is going on ? This has never happened to me before. Thanks

Lately this has been insisting on booking the CWLCY bit in C class at a ruinous price

Ongoing issue with AA flights posting. If it affects status, then phone up (don't bother emailing/using the website, it just lands in /dev/null IME).

'Search' can be a good friend and source of info. Read post 25 in this thread:

I am looking to do a run out to PHX at the end of May (I normally do AMS-LHR-PHX). Given
that I am slightly out of my depth and having read this thread and its predecessor, I would
be grateful for routing advice.

My dates are out 21 May and back on the 27th (leaving PHX on the 26th, presumably). I
would like to keep it under £2,000.

Without my wife and baby in tow, I have time to kill

Many thanks,

H
