If you book it on rj.com, there is I availability outbound on the 30th but not the 31st, but only D inbound on the 15th. That comes to about £990

Thanks for everyone's help and yes I have the option "Only show flights and prices with available seats" checked.

You may want to check that you aren't violating a minimum advance purchase requirement.

I generally would not trust ITA with availability but fare rules should not be an issue. Especially something as simple as advance purchase should not be incorrect.

If this is replicable, perhaps ITA Hacker or a colleague might be interested.

RE: RJ Crown Class fares booked under 'I' - are these fares still eligible for BA Exec miles at 125%? I ask as I isn't explicitly listed under BA Exec Club miles accrual lists for RJ (only fare codes J, C, and D). Tempted to book a very discounted I class fare to Colombo.

I ended up booking with BA in the end and the Mrs flew out this morning - all weren't that bad as she got bumped up to WT+ at the check-in at T5 this morning.

If it's not listed, you get nothing...

Thanks Haasha, that's good to know. Odd, as RJ 'I' class fares earn 125% with JAL and Qantas, I believe. Oh well, I guess I'll book with Etihad then.

I'm seeing LAS-LAX-MIA-SJU for £474 on AA later this year. All in A or I but I'll probably credit to AA so don't know what that means for BA tier points.

Any good?

I think it's good value, but then I'm probably biased (see post #699 - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/20402416-post699.html) - I booked that same trip for just £7 more a few weeks ago - in fact it's probably the same cost in US$ and price is just fluctuating a bit due to exchange rate. At 0.78p/TP (or thereabouts) I still think that's pretty good vfm though.

Sometimes there are point-of-sale issues as well. The airline may offer I9 to one market, but I0 to another. If ITA is looking at the former but you're booking in the latter, that could generate a discrepancy.

At the moment, I'm having this issue big time when pricing up an ex-EU that I'm interested in. It wastes so much time to have to consult the airline website to find the true availability.

Just read your earlier post. Wondering why your suggestion that it goes on the page top hasn't been taken up. Way better deal than the same itinerary in there starting in SFO.

Out of interest, have you found anywhere reasonable to stay in SJU?

I'm not sure, it's a busy thread so may have just been overlooked

I'm planning on the Caribe Hilton - seems to get good reviews and a friend that recently stayed at the Conrad San Juan (another one I was considering) wasn't particularly impressed by it. I had booked the Caribe before the HHonors devaluation but then ironically it actually dropped in price after 28th March so I rebooked it and saved a chunk of HHonors points! Works out at around 0.7c/pt value at current rates so quite happy with that.
