An “official POUG” is defined (for the purposes of this wiki) as the rate that appears in red on the MMB/BA app. It is NOT the rate offered at the airport (please see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ng-thread.html), or the rate offered when you click on the “Upgrade my class of travel with money” link from within MMB, or the “Upgrade to the next available cabin” blue/grey banner in the app.
Please add to this list as required, and include the month/year when the POUG is offered to you.

I normally find that when I don't take the offer on the inbound - it's disappeared once OLCI opens. But I've still not seen an offer on outbound.

European POUGs = U Class = no miles/points with partners
Just to let everyone know, POUGs for European flights are apparently always booked into U class now, not I or R. U is used for business class redemption bookings. This started at the beginning of March for internet bookings. Some phone POUGs may still go into I during this transitional period. The lady I just spoke to just now said she wasn't sure if these would now auto-credit with BAEC, or if they would earn miles at all. (Can anyone confirm or deny?)
If you are earning with an airline partner you probably won't earn miles/points.
QR just told me that a U class ticket was non-earning, irregardless of if it was paid in cash or miles.
I just spent an hour getting my new POUG "U" ticket moved back to a closed economy class. Rather stressful, but managed in the end with the help of the excellent agent on the phone.
Buyer Beware!

There is no such thing as a phone POUG, as it is a Proactive Online UpGrade. Upgrading over the phone will always be for a fare difference change.
Regardless of the fare class the POUG books in to and unless there is a published change, the previous confirmation is that a POUG where the underlying ticket is eligible for earning, will earn as per the upgraded class.
Partner earn is a grey area, the underlying fare should earn but the POUG may not earn if the e-ticket is re-issued.

If you upgrade a cash ticket which has had no subsequent upgrade since the time of purchase you will receive the Avios and Tier Points for the upgraded cabin.
If you upgrade a booking with cash and then pay for a further upgrade at the airport you will receive the Avios and Tier Points for the cabin travelled.
If you upgrade with Avios, use a GUFT voucher or receive an operational of complimentary upgrade for service recovery and then pay to upgrade you will receive the Avios and Tier Points for the original cabin booked and paid for with cash

I was just relaying what she said. Apparently BA are changing these paid upgrades to U class. She did say this this was a change in upgrade policy from the start of March, although some still book into I (she said phone upgrades, so yeah, not a POUG, sorry). It seems then that this only affects people earning with airline partners, not BA.

However, the potential problem with crediting to partners seems to be a real one. It's a variant of the question about what you get if crediting to a partner when you've bought a cash ticket in (say) WT+ and then UuAd to CW (which is then also booked in U class). ISTR that this has caused problems in the past.

I was ticketed in U for my ATH trip the other week - all Avios and TPs were posted as expected. I have to say I was surprised when I had an email with a new ticket.

LHR-BCN £79 and BCN-LHR £64, both ticketed into U as expected under the new system, with full Avios and TPs as always.
BCN-LHR was EUR120 at the airport.

Offered upgrade from WT to WTP for $220 LHR-YYZ Mar 31. This seems to have been offered on every flight I've taken on this route for the past year or so. I've learned not to bother taking them up on it since I always get upgraded for free in the end .

Perhaps if you took it, you'd be upgraded to CW for free in the end...

$220 is very good value and must mean they need to upgrade some passengers. Being a status customer, you're more likely to be chosen, but given the low cost, you may lose out to somebody else. I'd always take an offer that low. And, if they're rolling forward, you may well get the nod for CW. It has happened to me, and it's the best value CW you'll ever get.
