An “official POUG” is defined (for the purposes of this wiki) as the rate that appears in red on the MMB/BA app. It is NOT the rate offered at the airport (please see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ng-thread.html), or the rate offered when you click on the “Upgrade my class of travel with money” link from within MMB, or the “Upgrade to the next available cabin” blue/grey banner in the app.
  • All POUGs earn full TPs and Avios for the upgraded cabin, subject to the original booking being paid for with cash.
  • POUGs *ARE* offered on Hand-Baggage Only fares, if available
  • POUGs only become available after 48 hours of making your booking, until any time up to, and including OLCI. After being checked in you will not be offered a POUG.
  • POUGs do not seem to become available for travel agent bookings, until 2-3 days before departure (YMMV)
  • POUGs cannot be requested from Service Centres, except that occasionally BA.com will not proceed with a POUG online and display a message inviting you to call the Service Centre to complete the transaction.
  • After a POUG has been purchased, the ticket become non changeable and non refundable, apart from government taxes.

Please add to this list as required, and include the month/year when the POUG is offered to you.

I don't think so, just got and declined 'standard' £79 on PRG.

We were getting better prices lately, maybe BA decided to make POUG offers more flexible.

I didn't get offered anything on a flight to JER later in the year. Might be busy due to it being the lunchtime flight.
All other ET bookings I have made were offered an upgrade at the time of booking or within a few hours.

I know that POUG are not offered on hotline tickets, apparently.

Are they offered to shareholder discount bookings?

Yes, it may be that Flight Connection customer service can also do it, I just don't know, other than that all staff are being given Tablets that can do almost anything. But it's probably best to get airside and past security, then you can find the service desks either side of the main duty free shops. Hopefully you won't get a free upgrade! Just because there is redemption availability is no guarantee here.

I have had multiple hotline tickets, both SH and LH that have been offered POUGs?

Am I likely to get offered anything through MMB/OLCI for my flight (LHR > HKG > MNL).

I know you don't get them online when its open jaw, but in this case is anything likely to show? When I click upgrade with money or avios it says to call BA so I guess not.

Without trawling back through every page I don't know what "MMB" is but I usually get offered an upgrade from ET to CE when I check in online. Normally LHR - Paris is £69 one-way but this week it's £56, maybe because I booked when there were some very competitive prices during the Christmas sale?
