Indeed I agree, routing was posted with on stop too much.
Should be SIN-AKL-PER, but true is backtracking, however sometimes the only option available.

8500 vs 2400 miles is mega backtracking. Lack of availability makes no difference.

Indeed.

Totally ridiculous routing.

ORD - GRU stop over - MAO (Manaus)

I tried to book this but BMI couldn't find any availability GRU - MAO even though continental.com shows plenty of availability on TAM. If this routing is allowed I will call back a few more times and try. If not I guess I'll just have to suck it up and buy the ticket GRU - MAO ticket seperately.

Thanks!

I suspect this has to do with TAM not releasing seats to DC till three months out for domestic flights.

Hi Chaps,

Quick question about 1 way redemptions in Asia:

BKK-MNL (stop) - NRT

NRT-SIN (stop) - BKK

I'm fairly sure the first one is OK but could anyone comment on the 2nd?

Many thanks,

Mike

So what is the status of missing a connecting flight from one zone to another?

E.g. booking 1-3 connecting via 2 and missing from 2 to 3.

I am not sure if I am going to be taking the connecting flight and want to know if I should make separate reservations (which would cost more).

If you want to stop in zone 2 for + 24hours you will need separate tickets anyway.
I would guess, if you missed the onwards flight there would be nothing much done. You cannot make changes to a booking once travel has started and I doubt you would get miles/cash/taxes back....but it's just a guess

The ticket is bookable. I am asking is because I remember reading stories of people being chased to pay for missed connecting flights.

I think that is more in the case where they are transiting through a more expensive zone to a cheaper one and then missing the last leg to abuse the system

BD always reserves the right to go after such activities and claim the additional miles. Based on posts and specific comments the ICC makes they do watch certain routes for this kind of activity, plus such actions by the minority do spoil it for the majority (watch how our US F for C miles vanishes after too much abuse of that particular policy).

As such, book it, just you can't complain if BD does decide to come after you for extra miles - its just the cost of missing the flight.

Bump: Sorry, I'm sure this has already been asked before on 95 pages of threads but it's midnight and I'm sleepy, please forgive me.

Can I fly LAX to LHR the wrong way round i.e. via ICN? Will I get charged two separate bookings? Any tips for getting the best value out of a redemption going this way?

Thanks

Jonathan

It'll be 2 separate bookings. Not even close to most direct routing
