Anyone?

I suppose that strictly speaking it's a backtrack, but 200 miles in thousands of miles isn't significant so just ring, quote the separate sectors and see. If the answer is no then HUACA. Oh and I don't see UA from IAD to EZE on Star Alliance route checker and like you I'm sure they used to fly the route?

A couple questions:

1) is there any way to add a segment (after a stopover) to LAX-BKK-DPS to reduce the mileage cost?

2) Can I book a RT such as LAX-FRA(destination)-LAX(stopover)-YVR? I know I can do two OW with stopover on return but I am likely to make changes and two OW will incur more change fees.

Thanks!

I'm not so sure they are allowing Zone 1-4 via 3 any more or as much as they used to but I would certainly like to be proved wrong.

UA are axing the IAD-EZE flight in April I think and replacing it with EWR-EZE instead.

Do you think CPH-FRA-SIN /stop/ SIN-HND is valid, or is that too much of a detour? Alternatively: CPH-FRA-ICN /stop/ ICN-NRT. Nothing available on CPH-SIN, of course.

FlyerTalker46423 Dec 7, 2011 4:15 am

I did that route in the 'good old days' but whether they would still let you.. only way to find out is to ask.

(Actually it was BKK not SIN and to NRT)

Could well be OK - in September, someone booked HND-SIN-LHR.

My routing ARN-CPH-SIN(stopover)-PEK was declined, but CPH-SIN(stopover)-PEK was OK.

I couldn't see why, but so was their interpretation of the rules.

You have to remember that that's Zone 8 to Zone 1 which is a lot more mileage than ending in CPH or ARN which are Zone 2 (or vv.). Therefore the former is more likely to be approved than the latter (I think).

CPH-FRA-ICN /stop/ ICN-NRT should be fine though.
However, if you're going to have a stopover in ICN, why not do make subsequent leg GMP-HND?

SEL metro code should allow in-ICN and out-GMP without a problem (in fact I've done that myself before).

A quick follow-up: I was able to get CPH-FRA-SIN-NRT (LH C, SQ C on 388 and 77W) with an 18h stop at SIN as valid routing ^ DC will be missed (if ticketing gets done).

Great! Well done ^

Fingers crossed, I'll be able to get a similar redemption (TYO - BKK - zone 2) soon.

WilcoRoger Dec 10, 2011 4:19 am

European circle trip?

Can I book this redemption in one go (and if so at what rate?) or should I just break it down into one-way redemptions?

EDI-VIE-HEL-GOT-EDI

with stopovers at each stop?

jbfield Dec 10, 2011 4:26 am

Seeing as Stopovers are not allowed in Zone 1 or 2 for journeys wholly within those zones, you'll have to book it as one-ways.

Atlantico Dec 11, 2011 8:54 am

Will this route be valid?

BOM-SIN-AKL Stop-PER or
BOM-NRT-AKL Stop-PER?

Thanks

I doubt it, immense back tracking, usual routing would be via SIN or BKK

Atlantico Dec 11, 2011 1:32 pm

Indeed I agree, routing was posted with on stop too much.
Should be SIN-AKL-PER, but true is backtracking, however sometimes the only option available.
