No chance.....not only is it 3x the distance and not a valid routing but you're connecting through a dearer zone. ;)

I believe this is not a problem - I flew GUM-oNRT-xBKK-PER on a Z9-Z9 redemption last year. Flying through both Z8 and Z7 and with a stopover in Z8. All for the Z9-Z9 1-way price

PER - GUM

Any ideas as to how I might go PER - GUM now that NAN to GUM isn't functional (or at least not in April when i wish to travel).

At the moment it looks like the only way is doing something like:

PER - AKL - CNS - GUM!
or
PER - SIN - MNL - GUM!

Or, is it one of these impossible journeys (e.g. like MEL-SYD, SEZ - MLE with Star Alliance)?

Any help would be grateful.

Regards

Fair enough...I thought they were cracking down on that due to people not flying all the sectors. That aside I still don't think it'll be allowed.

I agree with you on that one. I expect 3 x the non-stop distance would not be allowed

Yes, sadly CO's NAN-GUM flight has gone - forever I believe (I think CO has left NAN altogether)

But PER-GUM can still be had, flying via Asia
In fact when I first rang the ICC to discuss my trip last year, they proposed PER-SIN/BKK-NRT-GUM. Their system did not show flights via NAN and when I asked for it, they at first disallowed it, due to backtracking. That was until I pointed out that its distance was only 10mi more than the route they were proposing

So, back to PER-GUM via Asia
There has to be three flights at least to get there.
- PER to either SIN or BKK, or possibly HKT
- from there to somewhere else
- and finally to GUM
The somewhere else is a place that has a direct service to GUM and a direct service from the first port (the SIN, BKK or HKT)
Posibilities are:
- the various places in Japan that CO flies to GUM from
- Manila
- Hong Kong
Some of these won't work if you're looking to just transit, but they all should work if you want to stopover.
And for 22,500miles + GBP150 for J return - it's a bargain IMO:D

ps I don't know if PER-AKL-CNS-GUM would work, but can't see why not if NAN instead of CNS worked for me! And according to gcm it is actually shorter than via NAN

In the process of making an award booking:

FRA-ORD-IAH-BZE
MEX-SFO /4-day stop over/SFO-YVR-FRA-MAN

Been advised that I need to book a Z1-Z3 return PLUS a Z3-Z3 one-way. Total miles of 48,750

Is this right, or codswallop?

Edit: (I class, naturally)

LIS - ICN

Would like to route via FRA - NRT with LH. Would this be allowed as does involve some backtracking to get to ICN? Thx.

routing is fine but you cannot stopover in FRA

edit: apologies I read too quickly and misread your post as wanting to go LIS-NRT via FRA...not sure about the NRT-ICN piece as it is indeed backtracking

Cheers!

The issue will be the return
my understanding is that a stopover tends to be part of your journey on your A to B route, your A to B route is MEX-MAN and there are a variety of routes for this routing which you can view on staralliance.com however there are no published valid routes from MEX to Europe that go via SFO. If you wanted to stopover in EWR, IAH or YYZ this would be fine as there are valid routes to Europe from MEX via these cities.

You can, of course, try another agent but do not be surprised to get the same response (but stranger things and routes have happened)

If you don't want to do the Z3-Z3 you can always look at a revenue ticket for the MEX-SFO part

Hi guys.

I know you are allowed to book a return to and from different airports, say AMS-BKK then BKK-LHR-MAN.

a) Are you allowed to book a return to a different zone? I.e. Z2-Z8 then Z8-Z1 as a return? I.e. IST-PVG returning PVG-IST-MAN ??

b) Also how about booking as a return to and from a different zone, say BCN-SIN(stop)-HKG Z2-Z8 returning SYD-SIN-MAN Z9-Z1 ??

I wish to do this to save YQ, and save on cancellation charges should things change.

Many thanks.

c) P.s. I remember being told that if i cancel a trip with 2 adults, 1 infant, i would be charged 3x£75. Is this correct?
