My sister tried to book a redemption from LHR - FRA - EWR - SFO yesterday. She is in Frankfurt for a couple of hours only and wants to stopover in New York for a few days. The agent wouldn't let her add the SFO leg saying she couldn't have another stopover. Did she just have a dodgy agent? The itinerary sounds ok to me. Am I missing anything? Thanks.

MAA might be an exception, or perhaps East and South India. I tried to get LHR-SIN-DEL or BOM, or LHR-BKK-DEL or BOM for a friend last week on days where there was no availability to DEL or BOM via the usual European carriers and the ICC wouldn't accept it as a valid routing. A Supervisor said the same but wouldn't explain why.
