Cheers for the advice!

Spoke to a very efficient Pratik who confirmed all the details with me and then added the extra leg for me £17 extra tax. So i got my DUB-EWR-TPA. Only problem then is I have to drive to Orlando, but Im not complaining.

Now to find a return journey which is next to impossible. Ive got MCO-YUL-LHR-DUB in Y!!!!

I too did the exact bookings a few weeks back. Same as you the only flights that were available were to TPA but a few days ago MCO opened up in Y but I am still holding out for J.

MCO will open up so keep an eye on it, in my experience it opens up in the last 2 weeks though so you might have to keep checking.

Are PVG-ICN-SYD (stop) - AKL and AKL-NRT (stop) -PVG ok? This route is only 1,600 miles longer than PVG-SYD-AKL-PVG according to GC map.

The miles quoted by ANA are those required if you are redeeming from ANA Mileage Club, so are not relevant when redeeming Diamond Club miles. Use ANA only to check availability, and use the DC burn table for the miles.

MAN to JED is Z1-Z5, so a return in economy, which includes the connecting flight via LHR or FRA or IST etc, is 40000 miles, or (20000 miles + £140).
Multiply by 1.5 for business.

Thank you that is REALLY helpful.
Can I just clarify - 20k miles + £140 + taxes right? vs 40k miles + taxes?
As I want to book in total about 7 flights I will play around to see which is most cost-effective solution.

Sorry another Noob question - can I book reward flights for anyone using my DC miles or only DC members (I am head of a family group)?

Yes, they are the miles+cash vs cash-only options, and yes you can book for anyone using your miles.

Is Z2-Z3 via Asia allowed?
I am interested in SVO-PEK-LAX on CA (need to make a short side trip to PEK and this would be a perfect mile-, money- and time-saving solution)
CA seems to have a published fare for this routing...

Do routes have to be returns? Can they be multi-segment?
Specifically could I do Man-Jed outbound and Riyadh-Man inbound?

You can do two one ways.

I don't think they will allow that. Its not a valid routing according to *A.

Getting from Europe to South America, how far west can one go in North America?

I think the general conclusion is that AC give 2 J per flight and then that's it. I've seen seats available at 355 days out on Aeroplan that the ICC just couldn't see and after several HUACA too, so best of luck. If you have no joy with AC then UA have the flat bed 767 in biz on some routes , we've booked from EWR to EZE on same:), CO are currently recliners IAH to EZE:eek:

Those ladies in India were super anal last week when I was trying to get relatively simple redemption in. They just kept repeating not allowed routing, although there were no backtracking. I could even get one of them within the MPM, but still no go.

I was truly amused that they are using Staralliance.com to "validate" routings. I finally got almost what I wanted after changing the stopover point from BKK to PVG rest of the routing staying the same.

It was a good redemption value wise, but took more than 4 hours of my time that I should have spent exploring Suva instead.

Stopovers allowed between Z2 and Z10 in Z7

Hi!

I'm planning a trip from Europe to Bangladesh/Nepal soon. I want to route BCN-SIN-DAC on the way there, and KTM-BKK-LHR on the way back (2 one ways). I know other people have sucessfully booked the KTM-BKK-Europe flight before as that is the only route out of KTM. Are you able to have a stopover in Singapore/Bangkok though whilst keeping the lower Z2-10 rates? I need to spend a few days in Indonesia and so I definately wanted to break the outbound in SIN for a few days.

Thanks!

Shefgab

Yes to a stopover from KTM via BKK, not a problem, I and others have done this
