Welcome to FT and the bmi forum ohmyif ^:)
We have a specifc thread for all of these types of award routing legality questions, so I've added yours to that thread. /mod |
Thanks for the answer.
That will be great. I'd like to design a route PVG-PEK/CAN/KIX-CAI(Stop over)-FCO by using 37,500miles and 255GBP. And in Egypt, I could buy an additional round trip ticket for CAI and SSH. A wonderful journal for Egypt and Italy, HahHah.

And to answer the stopover part, CAI should be no problem at all.

I‘ve called BMI customer service line, however, they told me that Zone8(CAN)-Zone2(FCO) via Zone5(CAI) is not permitted.
Which means I could only have a transit stay no longer than 24 hours in Cairo, otherwise, if I'd like to have a stop-over in Cairo, BMI system will charge more than 37500+cashes... Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

Tried, but they said that BMI system blocked that kindly of route automatically.
And the agent said if I'd like to have a stop-over at CAI, that will cost a mileage zone8-zone5 plus zone5-zone2...

Call again and speak to another agent. If they will allow you to route via CAI, then you should be allowed a stopover there assuming you haven't used your stopover allocation before CAI.

You should book as:
CPH - PEK - CTU - KTM CTU -KTM flight is indeed via LXA, but if you are non Chinese, non Nepali citizen, you will be denied check in at CTU when you book the ticket as CTU - LXA -KTM. If you have "Tibet entry permit for foreigner", then it's another story. Thanks for all your help. Are there any other creative routings for CPH - KTM as a z2-10 with stopover? I guess SIN is out? I will discount CAI now. Any other ideas? |
please share your result whether CAI is okay for the stopover.

In which case, that is a definite change of policy.

Has anyone tried redeeming with Aegean Airlines now that they're *A members? Same redemption reference chart I suppose? Will try ANA to see they carry them.
|
Are we certain of this or whether is a new misinterpretation of the rules?
Has anybody sought clarification from Joanna? |
Vancouver -> New York
Hope this is the right place to post this. New to flyertalk/BMI forum and need some expertise on planning a route.
I need to get from Vancouver to New York in early March, ideally in as much luxury as possible. Completely new to redeeming with BMI and could really do with some input on which airline to go with and a possible routing. |
YVR-YYZ on AC in C, they use their long-haul equipment with lie-flats on a number of flights. For the short hop out of YYZ whatever you prefer (AC und CO have C classes).

Connection via YYZ on longhaul (777/A333) will indeed be best, followed by AC to EWR/LGA use Aeroplan.com or Continental.com to find a route |
Good thread, very useful info!
I'm going to be in ISB (Z10) in April and would like to do ISB-BKK-LHR, which in itself is fine (although reading about some possible Z10-Z1/2 changes here?). I might factor in a possible stopover. Question is I'd like to visit one of the SIN/KUL as part of this itinerary, such as ISB-BKK-SIN-LHR, however not sure if this will be valid since BKK-LHR is a direct routing. Any ideas? |
