The reason being flying via HKG, is that we want to try the 1st class lounge in BKK, and the direct ICN flights dont seem to have F on board. The HKG-ICN sector can be in J, not fussed.

The 1st class lounge is lovely but your onwards flight does not have to have F for you to get access
We did LHR-BKK (F) then BKK-SIN (C) and were picked up off the LHR flight in a buggy and taken to the lounge
I believe the key is that the onwards flight does not have an F cabin

Will this allow?

ARN-FRA-SIN-PVG

Maybe or maybe not.

Case 1:
I tried to book ARN-CPH-SIN(stopover)-PEK as Z2-Z8 oneway award in Dec 2010.
But ICC didn't accepted it, so it ended as CPH-SIN(stopover)-PEK.

Case 2:
I booked ARN-ZRH-SIN(Stopover)-PVG-ZRH-ARN as Z2-Z8 award in Apr 2010.

With the assumption that the stopover will be in Singapore, then this should be a valid routing for a Z2- Z8 ; caveat the ICC rules the minute you try and book, and that the SIN leg is adding around 2,500 miles on ... but it is still a good Z2-Z7-Z8.

Cheers mate! Will defo buy the few extra miles needed. At the moment we have booked TG in J, ZRH-BKK, stopover for a few days, then BKK-ICN in J with asiana. Looking forward to trying TG F for the 1st time!

We are staying in BKK for a few days, before heading onwards to ICN. Not sure if we will still get access to F lounge then.

No you won't. You have to be on a same day connection to use the F lounge.

Take the massage over food any day. Food is nice but nothing special at all whereas the full-body F massage is a great experience and a great way to relax before your flight.

Some help please

I tried to book ATH-VCE-PHL-IAD and DCA-IAH-SJO. I was charged for a Z2-Z3 and Z3-Z3. I protested that the award should allow a free stopover in WAS. I was told this is what the computer is charging.

I said Ok change DCA-IAH-SJO and fly to phoenix instead. He said that its still zone 3 so the price will be the same without checking any computer?

So where am I going wrong?

Do I just need to find another agent?

Too many connections?

Too long a routing?

Can't fly into IAD and out of DCA?

Really I need ATH-IAD and am just trying to tack on a free flight. I want ATH-VCE-PHL because its available and its on US. I would prefer to stopover in IAD or DCA rather than PHL but PHL is acceptable. I then want to tack on a free flight from WAS or maybe PHL.

play agent roulette

Tiger_lily Mar 11, 2011 3:48 pm

The random agent lottery was in full swing today.

Open jaws are allowed, so arriving at IAD and leaving from DCA is fine.

Keep ringing back until you get one of the female agents. Usually they are much more clued up on the rules.

I also suggest that you have a copy of the rules to hand and quote them that there is no back tracking, open jaws are allowed, and you are travelling in the same general direction.

At a push, drop the PHL-IAD leg

hindukid Mar 11, 2011 4:01 pm

I read on some other thread that 4 segments is the max allowed. Is that true. I am trying to do ATH-VCE-PHL-IAD-IAH-SJO so that is 5 segments. Maybe that is why I got rejected.

I don't understand though. Is this priced by a computer or a human. He told me that it was how the computer did it so I assume no point in arguing.

Tiger_lily Mar 11, 2011 4:11 pm

I would still call back until you speak to one of the female agents.

They allow 10 on a RTW ticket. I can't remember if a conclusion was ever reached on the 4 segment debate though.

It is priced by computer, but some of the agents like to think that they know it all
