I can answer my own question.
They let me book it
However, unfortunately it triggered the F award price which is now 2.5x miles which blows. Cause US F is not worth the additional miles over economy.

Tip: Book CO F as that for some reason is C class redemption and you can enjoy C award price.

There's a direct EWR-SEA route, but it's tricky to find open F seats on some CO sectors at times. See if you have the chance to travel on a Saturday morning for example.

That's because it is CO J ;)

As you say though, availability is hard to find on many CO domestic routes sadly.

unfortunately i wasn't thinking clearly last night as it was 3 am due to the stupid opening hours so I actually booked this.

I assume I can change the reward by cutting off the US segments for £20 a pop? and get refunded the 22500 miles?
I will probably just buy a Y ticket instead. As 22500 for a one way US F is lousy usage of miles.

Can I indeed change the ticket this way? Or would they need to cancel and find the availability again?
Should I wait until right before and hope for availability on EWR-SEA?

Edi-zrh-lax-zhr-edi

Hi there.
Does anyone know if this a valid routing? Using ANA, all routings are via LHR. Given that zrh is further east than edi, is this considered backtracking?
Im looking at 2 F redemptions in Feb 2011 (Quite like the look of Swiss F and have heard good stuff about it and plenty of availability and seeing as I'll be chucking away my whole mileage balance would like something more salubrious than UA), and I"m not very experienced at this redemption malarky. Of course I could just buy a EDI-ZRH ticket seperately, but it's taking a risk if I miss a connection and was wondering if it could 'tacked on for free' Could anybody help me before I call the ICC please.

Perfectly fine, enjoy Swiss F, which is great! Make sure you book onto their new A330 flights (one per day to JFK), rather than the slightly older A340s.

No 330's to LAX? Rather than endure a US airline for a transcon!

Sorry, misread JFK for LAX, the old A340s are good in F anyway :), and no, its not worth changing at JFK to get the A330.

Is it F or J on Turkish from LHR to IST?

I have found F availability on the ANA tool but no J on a planned LHR-IST trip for next year. Now TK do not sell J on that route but do operate a 777 on it which I understand contains an F cabin.

Question is... will the ICC charge me F or J. Or will they say there is no J availability?

As always, thanks to anyone who can give me some pointers or an answer. :)

If you book a flight in F they will charge you F (similar scenario as internal US flights where there is no J) - which is the flight number as I can see J and F on the TK1980 which appears to be the 777 (but no F on the A321s)

here :)

Even paying the 2.5 multiplier, which prices a LHR-IST return in TK F suites on the 77W as 30,000 miles, or 15,000 miles + £175, it's still a fantastic value trip.

Thanks to both

Thanks to both caz312 and Oxon Flyer. Booked it this morning. Went to tell Mrs BA or bust that yes we were going to Istanbul for a little break but unfortunately there was no availability in Business. Oh well she said with a :( at least it is only 3 or 4 hour flight.

Look on her face when I said we were in F was priceless! :D

Is MAN-LHR-GIG (stopover)-EZE allowed? There's a direct, one-stop LHR-GIG flight.

By the way, are redemptions on PZ (Tam Mercosur) allowed? Technically they're not part of *A I think but they show up on ANA (with plenty of availability).

HIDDY Jun 13, 2010 4:49 pm

Yes you can do a stopover in GRU.....and as for PZ, a good question and one which I can't answer I'm afraid.

I imagine GRU wouldn't be a problem, I want the stopover in GIG though and that's a less standard route!

Will try to book GIG-EZE on PZ tomorrow (if the stopover in GIG is granted) and report back.
