El Puerco Volante,
You will not find availability in C or F from ZRH - SIN direct as the only option is SQ which is now using their A380.

Therefore, I can't see a problem with your routing - assuming it's a return ticket.

Not sure you can route via DEL onto SIN and then double back to MLE. That's into a lower zone, out to a higher zone and then back to the same lower zone again. Maybe it is possible though...maybe not.

Dear jbfield ,

Thanks for your answer. Yes, this should be a round-trip ticket, but as the availability, especially for SIN-->MLE part is very limited, I may need to make 2 one-way redemptions as availability comes up. And in worst case I will use BA for the return ( using some AA miles ), in case I will not find anything in my date range.

Do you see any issues with this approach ?

Thank & regards,

El Puerco Volante.

What do you think of the following routing? Would it be rejected?

MUC-LHR-LAX (stop)
LAX-IAH-EZE

As a single Z1-Z4 booking.

I guess it may have a back track problem. So this routing may be rejected.

It should be fine even with DEL route.
Depend on when do you want to travel (SIN-MLE), there is a lot of seats in Sept.
I just booked one yesterday.

I'm inclined to agree with you.

Hmm. Ok, how about this one:

FRA-IST-JNB (stop) aboard TK
JNB-EZE aboard SA

Z1-Z4 award.

FlyingOnceMore May 6, 2010 8:38 am

As I'm sure you've already observed, that routing is listed in the *A timetable.

mith May 8, 2010 1:10 am

for my dates the only available c-redemption Germany-NYC is with LO via WAW or KRK. Miles and More offers it with no problem, anatool only after putting in the segments manually.
Any experience with ICC? Would they charge more miles as it is zone2-zone 3 is more expensive as zone1-zone3?
(I know that LOts B767-300ers are not the newest planes and that service is below other airlines, but I dont want to sit in eco... - or shall I prefer VS premium eco to LO C - maybe westbound?)

No chance. They would split it into two awards at JNB

Has anyone managed to squeeze in a 25hr stop over in Europe? There are flights before which are available but I quite fancied a night stay.

jbfield May 11, 2010 4:30 am

Stopovers aren't allowed in Europe. 23hrs 59 minutes maybe (as then it's a transit), but nothing equal to or greater than 24 hours.

dodgeflyer May 11, 2010 6:12 am

I saw the only question pertaining to this in this thread had not been answered.

Is a Z2/Z2 routing allowed with a connection in Z1/Z2 without incurring the extra charge. The bmi redemption chart reads a little vague in this matter - it says no stopover is allowed on Z1/Z2 routing although I could interpret this as no stopover allowed in Z1/Z2 if starting in Z1 given that bmi is based in Z1.

Clarification much appreciated before trying to change the booking I have.

The wording of the answer in our FAQ is :

"If your trip involves more than one flight each way, and the origin and destination are both in zone 1 or zone 2, there is an additional connection charge for each passenger of 7,500 miles per economy return",

so I would expect your Z2-Z2 redemption would attract the Connecting Flight surcharge.

Many thanks - I did go through the FAQ but clearly I looked in the wrong section.
