Is this routing permissible
On a Z8/Z2 award, how many flying sectors are allowed within europe?
Instead of usual HKG-FRA-CPH, I am thinking about HKG-FRA(overnight, but less than 24 hrs)-HAM(overnight, less than 24 hrs)-CPH, so that I can have fun in FRA and HAM on the way to CPH. What would our experts at ICC would say? |

valid routing
need some help regarding a routing:
would this be ok to book as a one way award?: HAM-FRA-EWR-RSW stopover RSW-IAH-BOG? Z1 to Z4 via USA If not, what would you recommend? I need to get from HAM to BOG somehow and would like to stop along the way in RSW (Ft. Myers, FL) to see family. Time doesn't really matter, would be great however to pack everything into one award. |
Backtracking?
Hi,
I've been looking to get a LHR - SJO redemption in C for sometime this year - looking into possible routes it seems that the best/easiest transatlantic service in C is on Air New Zealand's LHR-LAX service. From LAX I can see a US Airways flight that goes to SJO with a connection in PHX. Would DC consider this as major back tracking and say that this routing is invalid? The only other routings I can find involve either Air Canada (via YVC) or Continental (via either EWR or IAH, neither of which have great availability / have a C product that would appeal to me). So, do you think I'd get away with my LHR-LAX-PHX-SJO routing? Cheers |
Well one point is that you'll get whacked for an F redemption using US Airways so do you want to even consider it ?

Hi guys,
Looking for suggestions for the outbound leg MAN-MLE. I've already found the return though ana with sq, and a stopover in SIN.^ Since my stopover is on the way back i'm looking for best/quickest routes to MLE, hopefully avoiding mr brown's taxes!! So are there any *A carriers direct to MLE from zone 2?? Suggestions much appreciated, as i'm new to this.... Oh, and am i right in thinking that you can have a stopover in SIN , on a redemtion from MLE-MAN? If so is it at the z1-z10 rate? Thanks in advance. |

Only other *A carrier serving MLE is OS who have a seasonal route from VIE (Z1 again). You could do CPH-VIE-MLE though if you wanted to start in Z2. |
Many thanks for that.
Tripped up on the 77w! Ah well, i've flipped the trip around, stopover in SIN first then on to MLE. Found redemptions on the AMS-SIN leg, then on the SIN-MLE leg. Plan to easyjet to AMS from LPL, so works out better. Also found CPH-SIN again on the 772, so maybe that to save a few miles. Whats J like on the SQ 772 from AMS/CPH? Lay flat? Or would i be better on an LH 742 from (can't remember.... but i found one) The MLE-VIE flight appears not to run during sept/oct, is this correct? So any thoughts on the best way home to MAN or LPL, or indeed LON, or AMS?? Any cheap ways out of MLE, to a *A hub??:D |

Zone 2-HKG
I'm looking for suggestions for a J class cash-and-miles route from any Zone 2 country to HKG, preferably with a stopover in SIN. I want to avoid LH and use the least amount of miles possible.
Many thanks in advance. |
CPH-PEK(and onward) SK Direct versus LX via ZRH
Hi,
I'm hoping to visit Beijing in June but whilst I'm on that side of the world I'd like to squeeze in a stopover, possibly FUK, but I also like TYO. I'm trying to figure out a redemption route. I think I could do: SK CPH-PEK (stop) - ICN - FUK FUK - ??? (stop) - CPH ??? = {maybe SIN or HND} But I'm not sure SK is as good as the LX alternative: LX CPH-ZRH-NRT (stop) - PEK PEK - ??? (stop) - CPH ??? = {maybe SIN} This is obviously subject to availability, but does one know if they are direct enough for the ICC? And if so, can anyone comment on the onboard product of SK versus LX in Business. Admittedly I'm a fan of HND rather than NRT but that's besides the point. |
Apologies for the perhaps naive question, but if there is no availability in J on NZ+Euro carriers from AKL to Europe via the Far East, and ANA shows availability for Singapore Airlines in J on the routing AKL-SIN-DXB-Europe, will this be bookable as a redemption?
|
Yes, it should be.
By the way, in repy to my own question I've managed to find & book, CPH-SIN-TYO. Just got to now make the return stop in PEK & then back to CPH. |
I want to go to Europe from HKG with a stop in SGN. Can I route HKG-SGN-BKK-LHR, even though it's a little detour?
