Hi all,

Just a quick question re. reward tickets going to Australia? Is it possible to go west i.e. via LAX or SFO or will I be charged for a zone 1 to 3 and then a zone 3 to 9? Does the same apply for New Zealand?

Also, I note on ANA a lot of flights are showing as 'on request' does this really mean not available? Is there another tool to use to get a definitive answer or is the ICC only?

Thanks

Jon

At the end of last year I booked two one-ways:

LHR-ICN-SYD
and
SYD-SFO (stopover) - LHR

Both were charged as one-way zone 1-9 redemptions.

2x one ways does not equal a RTW

... what an excellent idea!

This means that one can do what is effectively an RTW itinerary with at least 4 stopovers without incurring the RTW 200,000 mile ticket cost!

I am in need of an oneway award Z2-Z2 from SVQ to TSR. As my favourite routing SVQ-BCN-MUC-TSR has two connection flights, the amount of miles to pay would be 10k+7,5k+7,5k=25k miles.
I could also book two separate awards SVQ-BCN-MUC and MUC-TSR, this would cost only 6k+7,5k=13,5k and 6k miles.
Is it possible to book these two awards on one ticket so that in case of a delay, I would not get lost in MUC?

Is it a valid Routing for an award ?

Is BRU-ORD-DTW (stopover)-IAH ok for an award flight ? Is BRU-IAD-DTW (stopover)-IAH better ?

3 stop overs?

LHR-ICN(stopover)-SYD(stopover)-LAX-(stopover)-LHR

Hardly stopovers though are they? Two real stopovers one in each direction and the rest just -24 hour connections which can sometimes be a bit of a pain.

I am a little miffed. I checked today, and anything other that the absolute most direct routing is considered unacceptable. No +20% rule! Second, a short F class connecting flight (on a 2 class aircraft), causes an otherwise Biz class routing to be charged as an F class routing! This makes it near impossible to find award flights!

Tsk, tsk!

I have a award which is ticketed LHR-BKK-SIN

Can I add on a segment to DPS on this or change this to LHR-BKK-DPS

I have a second award ticketed DPS-SIN-SYD can I take out the DPS flight from this?

I am getting conflicting information from the ICC, just need to be sure as I can still cancel and reissue now but closer to the flight I know that flights won't be available.

Off course I would rather not make changes now as I can decide on DPS later then I just need to alter one of the above flights.

Checked with whom?

Am I right in assuming that you called the bmi Diamond Club Indian Call Centre (ICC), and someone on the other end of the phone told you that?

Or

Out of interest, what 20% rule are you referring to? I'm not aware of bmi DC using such a "rule" explicitly...

FWIW, I just redeemed GRU-ZRH-BHX on LX - which is probably a marginally longer route than some of the alternatives with TP or LH.
Although, this was after two aborted calls with agents who didn't have a clue, or couldn't be bothered - I suspect you may have encountered the latter...

The F leg issue has already been raised on another thread (and is irksome for those of us seeking a short leg where there's only F/Y options as part of a C redemption ) - I agree it's frustrating, but not exactly the end of the world... I think folk have asked Joanna (bmi resident forum lurker) to get bmi to reconsider, though.

How does one find out Premium economy award availability on Air New Zealand?

ANA only show F, J and Y.

Has anyone ever seen NZ Premium Economy availability?

thanks,

You can not redeem on premium economy (other than BMI flights). Simple as that

changing start or end point requires a cancelation

No, it doesn't. No change in zones, so requires nothing but a recalculation of the taxes plus £20.
