How do I book on amadeus? I got all the flights selected and nothing happens. I must be missing a next button or something.

No way they'll do that. Its backtracking and its not the shortest possible way .
Your only option is one direction , ie DPS-SIN-BKK or HKT. That's it. If you're stopping in HKT, you may do DPS-x/SIN-HKT-BKK. Otherwise you'll end up as 2 awards. DC won't even let me do BKk-HKG-SIN, so I know for sure they won't do that for you. Now DPS, SIN & BKK are all in Zone 7. DPS-SIN is a popular sector and availability on Y & C is rare due to SQ restricting availability on their 3 daily flights (but then you know that as well as I do). I called about a month ago for a DPS-SIN-BKK redemption and when I went sector by sector I was offered DPS-BKK-SIN on TG as an alternative to DPS-SIN (in early May). I did not go for it as I wanted to add another sector SIN-BKK and going twice to BKK would certainly not have been possible. So I moved my travel date by one day out and managed to get 2 (bookable) SQ C seats on DPS-SIN on the first morning flight. Not ideal as no one really wants to leave bali at 9:40am but that's probably why the seats where available in the first place. So long story short, I think DPS-BKK-SIN can very well be offered and accepted when SQ DPS-SIN is not available. As always with the ICC YMMV but I don't think it is impossible. BTW, how would you do SIN-HKT-BKK on *A without going to/ through BKK twice? Is that possible? From SIN your only chance to HKT is via BKK on TG for the domestic sector. SIN-HKT is MI so not *A. |
For those relatively short hops, why don't you use AirAsia? They have very good flights from all those 4 airports, and the overall price will not be far from the taxes you pay for your reward ticket. You do not get C, but for <3hr flights, is that really worth it?

Trying to get to seattle or anchorage in june and there is absolutely nothing to these or indeed any US or Canadian city nearby in C flying trans atlantic; but it can be done via the far east / japan; can it be done this way round for the same miles ??

Thanks to AHO's advice on the SK EB forum, I've been looking into using BMI DC point one-way for a 4 people family trip to SE ASIA in early 2012.
I've checked Star Alliance web site, where the following shows as valid routings: 1) CPH-BKK-CNX-HKT (on Thai) 2) HKT-ICN-NRT (on Asiana) Would the following then be a valid Z2-Z8 routing ?: CPH-BKK(stopover)-CNX/ChiangMai(stopover)-HKT/Phuket(stopopver)-ICN-NRT |

If it's reverse, you can do NRT-HKT(stopover)-BKK-CPH. Which may be accepted as a single Z8-Z2 award. There are direct flights to Phuket from NRT, ICN and HKG. But only to ICN from HKT. |

Not on one redemption. You can only do one stopover on a one way redemption.

I highly doubt that such a circuitous route would be allowed as a single redemption anyway with a single stop over.

Is KTM-BKK-PVG-YYZ-PHL possible?
I have already booked PHL-FCO-BKK-KTM and looking to book the return. The *A website shows routing through both Asia (NRT, PEK, HKG...etc) and Europe. However when I called DC they said going through Asia is prohibited as it's not the 'most direct' route. But the distance travelled is actually shorter via Asia than via Europe. I don't understand why they wouldn't let me take the shortest route. Anyone got suggestions on how to convince them? |
I was told by BMI that DEN-ORD-AMS-CPH barely met the MPM cut-off applicable to the award ticket.
MPM was a term I've never had BMI reps toss my way at this time last year or in any of the years before that in which I've used a BMI account. Sounds like ICC agents have been schooled about a variety of restrictions (not previously a problem) and now we are going to be schooled in return. |
That routing seems reasonably straight-forward. MPM would a be a retrograde step = there are sop many destinations that would be unobtainable if IATA MPMs were enforced.

5,145 miles DEN-ORD-CPH (UA+SK) 5,200 miles DEN-YYZ-CPH (UA/AC + AC) 5,268 miles DEN-LHR-CPH (UA+SK) 5,389 miles DEN-ORD-AMS-CPH (UA+SK) 5,441 miles DEN-FRA-CPH (UA+LH) 5,450 miles DEN-EWR-CPH (CO) That I'm hearing BMI repeatedly toss in talk about MPM in recent times of booking award travel is anything but a good sign -- and it's an even more worrying sign when being told that the routing I mentioned above via AMS barely meets the MPM cut-off |

My understanding of the process: 1) Look at 'normal' route (i.e. one that an average non-mile junkie person would book) then 2) Look at *A official routing then 3) Look at MPM. If all 3 fail, then charge two awards rather than one. That said, I find it rather odd that DEN-ORD-AMS-CPH would be above allowed MPM. It is barely over 10% over the great circle distance. It should be very comfortably within MPM. |
