GRU-BCN-FRA-JFK for a Z4 - Z3?

No that would not be a valid routing. It is over 2x the distance of a direct flight. TAM fly GRU-JFK directly, CO fly GRU-EWR and there are various 1 stop options within Brazil or USA.

You could try routing via Asia as Europe might be slightly back tracking.

Sorry I think I should add a ;) into that before someone skips my sarcasm.

No, I'm sure it won't be ok. Must vastly exceed MPM....

GoldCircle Nov 4, 2011 7:25 am

MPM is irrelevant as bmi uses a zone to zone pricing.

It won't be ok because it is taking the Michael.

What's "taking the Michael"?

It's a UK saying.... a derivative of "taking the mickie" / "extracting the urine"

I guess the closest I can come up with is "Being Cheeky"

Dear Cheerfulflyer. Thankyou for your kindly reply. I was trying to be helpful, and didn't realise the originating phase was not in common parlance across the English speaking world - "michael" is not as commonly used as "mickey" and I thought that the use of the word "michael" is what you were questionning.

However, if you search the web for "take the mickey", you'll find the first hit on Google is Wikipedia - which helpfully explains the answer to your question

However, alongside Yorkieflyer's reply - the closest meaning I can come up with in this context is something along the lines of "making unreasonable request"

I trust that is a more satisfactory reply to your question.

Looking for availability for SFO-DPS-NYC. Doesn't seem to work on ANA planner for some reason. Not submitting query. Not sure why. Since ANA doesn't seem to allow multi-city, I am basically doing 2 roundtrips (SFO-DPS-SFO and DPS-NYC-DPS) where only OB date on first and IB dat on return are relevant.

Anyone who can help?

Dates are 19 Jan 2012 for SFO-DPS and 24 Jan 2012 for DPS-NYC

Hi all,

staralliance.com doesn't seem to suggest the following, but seems reasonable to me. Just wondering if anyone can see any problems with me attempting to book it.

DUB - FRA -PVG (stopover) - TPE
TPE - PEK (stopover) - LHR - BHD

Thanks,
Sean

ANA does work, choose EWR or JFK not NYC. Multi city is at the bottom of the screen.
Anyway if you search by breaking down into sectors you will maybe have more success trying different routes. Not knowing whether you want Y or J or how many seats it is a bit tricky. But to start you off I found at least 1 seat as follows

19 Jan UA885 SFO to Osaka
21 Jan TG673 Osaka to BKK
21 Jan TG431 BKK to DPS

all Y and J

24 Jan TG432 DPS to BKK J and Y
25 Jan CA980 BKK to PEK J and Y
25 Jan CA981 PEK to JFK J

there is also UA via IAD on return in Y

I suspect this is a case of a routing being abused in the past....people with no intention of actually taking the final sector and getting a zone 4 to zone 3 for less miles. Why do you need to go via YYZ anyway?

More chance of getting it if you booked it as a return.
