Hi,

I would like to use my BD miles before they get devalued by M&M. :td:

One interesting destination seems to be KTM. On Staralliance.com it shows me no availabilty from FRA to KTM? I heard about routing via BKK (with possible Stopover?). Is this right? What kind of routings with possible stopover would be allowed to KTM with as Z1-Z10 award from FRA?

Thanks in advance
Chris

The route cia BKK you mention is the only one available to my knowlede. Availability is generally good, even for more than one passenger. TG service from BKK-KTM has been top notch in my experience. I had a thread on The Thai forum where I received lots of excellent advice from KTM-based FTers.

How did you get that answer if you don't mind me asking?

It was one of the girls, I didn't get her name. She got all the other sectors confirmed on screen but couldn't get a couple booked. She put me on hold for a few minutes and said she had phoned UA. It was IAD to MCO economy, first class from LHR to IAD was fine.

Took the option of flying the following day, however on the return leg, she couldn't get the first class from IAD to LHR confirmed either.

Does this sound suspicious?

Tiger_lily Dec 2, 2010 1:14 pm

Did you build it sector by sector?

I have had the married segment issue appear on UA once or twice before when going sector by sector, so you might have got it if you had asked her to try LHR-MCO via IAD instead.

What date are you coming back?

Raggets Dec 2, 2010 1:39 pm

Ah, never occured to me when I was on the phone.

Return I was aiming for was 28/10 - MCO IAD LHR

Both legs in the states were ecomomy, trans atlantic were in first.

UA924 has 4 F seats available on the 28th.

I suggest that you ring back first thing and try again

Thanks a million, I will try that. I'm kind of restricted in my routings cos I am looking for 3 seats.

If I try asking for LHR to MCO via IAD, do you think I will get around married segments given that they let me have LHR IAD in first on 8/10 but not IAD MCO at 0850 the following morning? Or is that not a factor at all?

Only way to find out is to phone up and ask.

Thanks a lot for that. :)

So would I be allowed to do a Stop in BKK if I pay the Z1 to Z10 miles?

Tiger_lily Dec 2, 2010 2:36 pm

Yes, but as always, if you fail to show for the BKK-KTM leg, bmi have the right to chase you for the difference in miles or miles/cash for Z7 instead.

If the ICC are difficult about this, it would help you to be able to provide proof of accomodation etc in KTM

I really wanted to fly to KTM. Itīs more or less a child dream to "be near" to Mount Everest. :)

Just for information: Do they chase miles if you miss to show in such a routing?

So FRA-SIN Stopver - MLE would also be possible for the same mileage?

Yes they have be known to.

As for MLE, yes you can do this for the same mileage. Finding the seats to MLE on SQ will be a challenge though.

Yes

The point being that if these routings are abused, as they have been in the past, we will all lose the ability to redeem on them
