Thanks, ps

Not technically true, as CO also serves CNS from GUM.
I wonder if they would allow FRA-EWR-HNL-GUM-CNS....doubt it though

I asked if I could do NOU-AKL-LAX-IST, and was told I have to go via Asia twice, and ended up going NOU-AKL-PEK-IST

You'd probaby get FRA-NRT-GUM-CNS

Anybody know what Continental Micronesia are like? Especially business class seats between NRT and Guam and Guam and CNS? Thanks, ps

I'm hoping to do a route such as the following using miles plus cash in business class:

GLA\EDI - FRA\ZRH\AMS - SIN (STOPOVER) - KL return

Will this be possible and how many miles and cash will it set me back for 2?

Thanks in advance.

anyone?

That routing shouldn't be a problem.

GUM-CNS is ~4.5 hrs on a 73G, so i guess it wouldn't be that bad up front.

NRT-GUM comes up as EQV but if you score the 767 I can't see that being too bad.

GUM-CNS is a standard first class US domestic Continental 737. 2x2 seating, 38", like what European carriers had before they all switch to pseudo-business with coach seating.
You will get a full meal service, I flew the island hopper and to DPS on the 737s and it was fine.

767s are proper (although I think old style) Continental Business First seating.

I tried making the following (all business class) redemption:

LAS-IAH (with stopover)-FRA-BHX

The ICC were happy to confirm availability on all legs for my chosen dates, but then told me it was not a valid routing, and that I would have to book the journey "point to point". It was also suggested that LAS-LAX was the acceptable starting leg for this transatlantic journey.

As staralliance.com lists my preferred routing, I'm going to make another attempt at booking this, but wondered if anyone can see a genuine reason why the ICC should rule it as invalid?

TIA.

ok what do the experts think of this being allowed

DXB-IST-TLV(STOP)-PHL-YYZ

I'm not an expert but it seems to be a valid routing to me if IAH-LHR is not available on CO that day.
Also LAS-IAH is perfectly acceptable as starting leg.

LGA-YYZ-NRT-ICN-BKK-USM, thinking of replacing USM with KTM and making it a z3-z10 for less miles (sub 24 hours stopovers in NRT/ICN)

That last part replacing USM with KTM is definitely back tracking after coming from ICN to BKK but then given that no *A carrier flies directly that route and only options are on TG or CA I think it could work. Just make sure you fly that last part as we don't want DC to close down that option due to abuse.

SEAsia / Oceania redemption

Any thoughts on

A) MLE - SIN - CNX (stop) - BKK - MNL

B) SYD - AKL - NAN (stop) - GUM - PNI

...or even further?? ... SYD - NRT (stop) - GUM - PNI

Website suggests via SIN to GUM as well, which seems even further of a detour!

I wonder why this was not allowed? I would try again.
