Any idea if AKL-LAX-IST-ASB would be allowed as a Z9-Z8?

AKL-LAX-IST comes up in the Star schedule... but it is 3000 miles longer than via HKG for example....
There are however no seats on AKL-Asia around the days I want...

Too bad. That's the route you have to take. Otherwise you have to make it as 2 awards...

I just wanted to point out that it may be hard to convince ICC for the route like IST-FRA-BKK-KUL(stopover)-SIN-HKG as Z2-Z8 award. The KUL stopover is not a normal enroute stopover for IST-HKG. In BKK or in SIN,Yes.

I don't know if you want to fly MS, but IST-CAI-KUL-BKK(or SIN)-HKG can be an option without being serious backtracking.

Some SQ flights on SIN-HKG are operated by 77W and 380, which means you cannot get F or C class award on these flights.

Got it sorted out by asking for it as two sectors LHR-KUL-HKG albeit it Z1-Z8 with APD all in TG going via BKK on each sector. So it's actually 4 flights in total. A little tricky as I couldn't ask for it sector by sector as going back through BKK was considered backtracking.

Is this stopover allowed?

Is the following allowed at all, or will I have to book each sector separately?

LAX-JFK with a 4 day stop over and then JFK-LHR?

And if so, how would it work in terms of mixing airlines and classes, i.e LAX-JFK with UA First and then JFK-LHR in Business with LX.

Stopover is fine. You'll be charged for an F redemption. Highest class of service is always charged now.

Thought so.

Still would be cheaper than booking as two separate bookings ( one First and one Business) would it not?

Cheers RAPC.

Just used the Flight cost calculator so very helpful, but just one more question, can I add on a LAS-LAX sector with a stopover at LAX?

So in other words are two stopovers allowed?

Apologies for the “newbie” questions...

Don't forget the F can be avoided if LAX-JFK is taken C on UA PS. I have found availability on PS LAX-JFK is quite good (in contrast to SFO-JFK where I have found it harder to come by).

Two stopovers are not allowed but you could opt to have up to 24 hours in LAX and still use JFK as stopover, or vice versa. Alternatively just buy a single economy seat from LAS-LAX, they are dirt cheap.

I would advise this too as UA seems to have good availability on the LAX-JFK flights (normally) that way you will only have to pay J miles through out.

I want to try OZ and NH service. Since i'm based in MOW, to get redemption to NRT/ICN i will have to backtrack via CDG or FRA. Will this routing be allowed ?

CAlex Sep 28, 2010 7:59 am

I know OZ have no fuel surcharge, but I would also consider TK, who have very good flights and lower fuel surcharge then LH

If you also like TK, then SVO-IST-NRT with TK is a good alternative.

IST-NRT is served by a B77W. A good C product that I can recommend any day. ^
