Sao Tome
Anyone flown to Sao Tome (zone 6) via JNB or some other Southern Africa start? The only routing I see is via LIS...would say
WDH - JNB - ZRH - LIS - Sao Tome be allowed? |

What about YVR-YYZ-EWR(stop)-FRA-LHR
Alternatively, what about cutting out YYZ? |

Would a routing MUC-BKK-TPE[stopover]-SIN-MEL be allowed a oneway Z1-Z9 award ?

HKT-BKK-JNB-FRA-ARN HKT-BKK-FRA-ARN (ie without the ridiculous detour) = 6778 miles |
Has anyone tried something like NRT-BKK-AKL? Or NRT-BKK-MEL-AKL?
Not much availability in the days before the holidays on the direct flights, and trying to avoid KIX-AKL on the old NZ 767s. |
Is it possible to make stopover at a one way flight ?
I would like to fly GRZ - FRA - PEK (stop) - SYX (Dest) Then I would like to take a second one way fligt: SYX -SHA-(stop)-FRA-GRZ or SHA - NRT (stop) - FRA -GRZ Are these routings ok for Z1- Z8 Award Bookings? |

Best permitted routing to Micronesia?
Have finally popped the question and Significant Other will become Mrs Grantosol next year:D
So where to go on honeymoon? We have just cancelled our Xmas redemption to Cape Town, miles refunded fine. We now have between us 80K miles. We are looking at a miles + cash redemption and really want to go business class. I know we dont have enough miles for all of this. Happy to buy more next Feb, 12 months after I last bought miles (I wonder could I buy some more now? Do they really care?) So where to go? I'd love to go to Palau in Micronesia. Continental flies there (Koror, Palau (ROR)) via Guam. Ideally, I'd love to go on that Continental pacific hopper flight that stops in various South Sea islands, but don't think that'll work with the one stopover rule. We could buy a standard economy flight to Singapore (zone 7) and begin our redemption journey there, or we could fly Dublin (home) to the USA (zone 3) and begin from there. Imagine the ICC call on this ! So all ideas very welcome Many thanks Grantosol |

what about a Z6 - Z10 below JNB-FRA-ZRH-DEL will this be allowed? I suspect they would however, allow JNB-IST-DEL on TK or JNB-CAI-BOM on MS as a single award. I assume you are trying to find the most cost (miles/cash/both) efficient way of spending vast amounts of time in a C class seat and so are dreaming up ridiculous routings to achieve that end. It's this sort of behaviour that has led to the ICC cracking down on Europe-SIN/BKK-Japan awards which were eminently more sensible than some of the nonsense I have seen on here. If on the other hand you want to do these in Y, then I wouldn't stop you. I would hope the ICC would book the award and salute your masochism. |
