MGM Properties with amex offer
I am trying to book MGM properties (nomad / delano) FHR and would like to take advantage of MGM amex offers. But i dont see any option pay at hotel.
tried to book 2 nights, Amex FHR will charge my card for 2 nights immediately, Any recourse?
also, if i book 1 night under my name, 2nd night under spouse name (different amex plat card) in same hotel, will i get 2 * $100 FHR credit? Can we stay in same room?
sorry if the question has been asked before.
thanks in advance

There is a whole other thread on the second question; short answer is YMMV but changing rooms is the easiest way to make sure that you get both credits. FHR back-to-back booking questions.

Are there any DPs on checking in as the additional guest on the reservation (specifically in Vegas)? All I see upthread is theoretically the T&C requires primary cardholder present.
My friend won't use his $200 Platinum credit and offered it to me, so I'm wondering if I can use it without him.

Stayed 1 night each in Nomad and Delano. Was expecting Delano to be the jewel, based on reviews here. Completely opposite experience - Had so many little issues at Delano. Nomad was the clear winner.
Logistically, I had no car. For moving from Nomad to Delano, it was half walking, half taking the free tram between Excalibur and Mandalay Bay, with luggage. Doable, but would choose Uber next time if non-surge.
-----------------
Hotel: NoMad
Room: Classic King
Check-in: Checked in around 3pm, no wait. Easy to find from the Nomad taxi entrance in the back.
Upgrade: Atelier
Late Checkout: 4pm
Breakfast Credit $60 at Primrose. Walked in around 11am and had to wait 30 minutes. Great atmosphere in the small tables in the bar room; the chair was very comfy (someone compared it to upscale French countryside dining). Had fluffy pancakes and smoked salmon. Food was ok. Enjoyed the atmosphere more - there was no rush which suited the leisure vibe.
Credits: $100 at 100+ MGM food establishments. Used at Bavette's. The Chicago cut Ribeye is hands down the BEST steak I've ever had at a restaurant. Too many times big name steaks are dry and/or flavorless. Not here - extremely tender and bursting with flavor. There was a hockey game, which is a big thing in Vegas (their first professional team). Bar was full before the game but easily got a seat afterwards.
Comment: NoMad is an intimate hotel. As many mentioned, it's really dark in the hallway, lobby, and in the NoMad Library (restaurant). While I'm indifferent to the other 2, the NoMad Library seems like a great intimate setting. The Atelier is an intimate room with a giant bath tub, which I loved. Pretty good view from room - not expansive strip view, but way better than what Delano gave me.
Monte Carlo was the 2nd hotel I ever stayed in Vegas. It was a great location on the strip but unremarkable in every way. I'm glad it got a facelift into the modern-day Park MGM and especially Nomad, with great restaurants onsite.
----------------
Hotel: Delano
Room: Delano King Suite (basic room)
Check-in: Checked in around 4pm
Upgrade: None. Front desk apologized but said fully booked. Room had no strip view, but view of mountain and Mandalay Bay (just ok).
Late Checkout: 4pm
Breakfast Credit $60 at Della's Kitchen. Made reservation for 10am Saturday. Good idea. Long wait for walk-in, just like at Primrose previous day. Food was slightly better than Primrose, service about the same, but I prefer the laid back countryside vibe of Primrose.
Credits: $100 at 100+ MGM food establishments. Used at Rivea on top of Delano, per rec upthread. Excellent food - had the duck, lobster risotto and sea bass ceviche. Excellent view from outdoor seats (didn't get one but walked over for brief enjoyment).
Comment: check-in was fine (despite no upgrade). After that, it went downhill. The sink door fell. The computer chip above the mini bar broke. Only one soap for the entire suite; there was no body wash, do they expect guests to reuse the one soap between hand washing and shower? I mean it's doable, but at a 5 star hotel? No slipper or robe in room, requested slipper, took 1:30hr to arrive. Bed not very comfy, poor for 5 star hotel. Toilet paper had no opening, had to awkwardly pry it open. Big water bottle not clearly marked as mini bar item but in fact costs something like $22. In room Coffee also costs money. You pay about $30 for a cup of coffee in the room. Lovely.
None of the issues were major. But there were so many little things done wrong, it really killed the mood. I don't understand how this can be considered a 5 star hotel. It's a bigger room than NoMad's Atelier, but it just feels cold and bland. Having said that, i'd stay again if the price is right, just with low expectations. Given the same price, I'd definitely pick Nomad for the better hotel and location.
One bright spot was the pool. I was pleasantly surprised that the pools were still open in mid November, thanks to the 85F weather (but no thanks for walking with luggage). While the pools were a definitely notch below that of Grand Wailea, I enjoyed the well-paced lazy river. The wave pool was kind of silly, with only one wave every 2 minutes or so, most of the time just waiting.

I think if you call Amex you may be able to do a postpaid MGM booking. Note that typically all postpaid MGM stays (booked through any channel) have a deposit of one night taken at booking and the remainder charged at check-out, though it appears the Amex offer allows for the spend to be accumulated across multiple transactions so that should be okay. (A prepaid booking will show up as an Amex Travel charge, not an MGM charge, so wouldn't count toward the Amex offer at all, though you could potentially still achieve the Amex offer on a postpaid booking if you had a lot of incidental spend charged to your room -- though obviously that may be hard on a short stay after taking advantage of the FHR inclusions, but you can at least charge to your room from restaurants at any MGM property on the Strip.)

Thanks for the report. Just curious, was there free coffee available in the room at Nomad? I agree the Delano setup is a bit obnoxious but I don't think I've ever stayed at an on-Strip hotel with free coffee available in the room, it's just one of those ways that Vegas hotels are on a different page than hotels just about anywhere else in the world.

I recommend to people to just book a resort room and get upgraded to a panoramic. The main pools are much larger than the tower ones and there is a lot more space to lounge around. The only advantage that I can see of staying in the towers is being able to use the tower valet for free except for the tips and being really close to the tower elevators. If you don't use the tower valet then the regular parking is more of a hike than the regular room elevators.

I booked a room using The Hotel Collection, not FHR at the Park MGM. It has the $100 dining credit that comes with it, but can you actually use that credit at any MGM hotel in Vegas or does it have to be just at the Park MGM?

Waldorf Astoria
Greetings All,
Just discovered FT and this forum. Wife and I booked a 4 night stay at the WA mid December through FHR. Only our second time using FHR and recently made Diamond with HH for the first time. We've never stayed at a WA or really any 5-star level property before. FHR was offering fourth night free and free valet in addition to the normal perks. The price was just stupid cheap even before the Amex credits. We booked a King strip view. Wife and I are not big party/casino peeps so the WA seemed like a good fit. Anyone have any recent experience at the WA LAS with FHR? What can we expect, any advice tips. How is the WA spa? We normally like Spas with big sauna, whirlpool, pools etc. I don't see a lot of info about the WA other than the usual assortment of treatment options. Any info appreciated!
